I agree. Sahara like he has is more like a luxury version for street and daily drivers anyways. If you go for the Rubicon thats more of the version for offroading.

Hi, I got 2 door Sahara 2015. I went for 2 inch lift with 305 65 r 18 BFG TA KO2, which are almost 34 inches. I have no speedometer issues, no power loss (for light off roading and driving up Hills). I notice mild tire rub when i turn my steering all the way, but that is not a concern. My lift allows me to disconnect sway bar and then there is no rub. I also got ACE rock sliders , angry bird grill, BW straight fenders, rear view camera, SRC oversize tire carrier, Smittybilt front and rear bumpers with smittybilt winch, front LED flood lights and Sunrider soft top for hard top. My jeep is black but I got free lime green wrap from the dealer. I think I have found perfect combination of power and looks. So far my bld has not given me any hard time and I do not wish to be a professional rock crawler. I just do off roading for fun and enjoy driving my jeep in city ( Vancouver). :)

wheel offset needs to be in the negative 4, will work great. did that to my jeep 35 's and no problems

the 44 limited slip is an extra on sport and x models. my rear 44 on my 08 2 door x was open. my 2016 rubicon is open when lockers not engaged. I believe Sahara comes with limited slip

I want to lift my Jeep but am worried it will be to tall for underground parking garages. Have you ever encountered any issues yet with parking? Thanks. By the way - I know you did this video a while back but I use OBD Jscan app with a cheap OBD bluetooth reader and it allows you to calibrate the speedometer and make changes like daytime running lights and seat belt alarm. FYI.

How are your shift points in your Auto Trans working now? Did you get your speedo recalibrated? What brand of lift did you get? I'm thinking of a 2.5 tera-flex.

If you regear that will help a lot as well as a programmer like the Superchip Flashpaq can improve performance. Add a good intake with that helps a little more. I have no problems with acceleration with 4:88 gears + 35. There is no free lunch you can't just slap on big tires and expect Magic.

Nice looking Jeep my man. I have a Dodge Ram 1500, I'm thinking my next vehicle is going to be a Jeep. Jeep used to have a reputation for overheating, has that been corrected? I think it was mainly the Jeep Cherokee that had the overheating problem.

hey, with my 33s and no lift I didnt have any rubbing on city streets, never tried offroading then. After I got my 2.5 inch lift, I did try some offroading and it was awesome, no rubbing whatsoever. But now that I got the 35s I am getting some rubbing in my garage parking lot so I have ordered some spacers to hopefully fix that problem.

Hey buddy. So I'm selling my 33s now. My jeep stands about 6" 2' or 6" 3' and luckily cause I live in a newer building the clearance down there is 6" 6' so I make it :). Mind ya I wouldn't be able to clear the toronto eaton centre parking lot anymore which is at 6" 2' lol.

Awesome Jeep! Really love the upgrades. Got a question. Where did you get those Canada flag decals from? I had just installed a 1.5" Spidertrax Wheel spacers to avoid rubbing on my wrangler which is on stock suspension. I got 33's on.

After the spacers, reinforcing the axle. A 30-32 spline axle is heavy duty but spacers weaken your axle. Heavy duty brakes because of heavy tires. Did you change your axles ratio to 4.88?

I'm about to do this setup on Tuesday (2.5 lift, 35/17s). Did you get a Flashcal F5 to fix the shift points and speedometer? Also, what are you running for the rear end gears? I'm running stock 3.73 gears.

Way better with the 35s! You will need to adjust your speedometer with the new tires. Spacers will take care of the rubbing. Jeep looks dope!!

Did you get 5 tires? If so, you may need an aftermarket tire carrier to avoid damage to your tailgate. But, Some Jeepers carry a 35 in tire on a stock carrier and have no problems.

offset wheels will do sometimes, if you don't want the spacers, but you got your wheels so spacers are the answer.

Michael Alcala hey buddy. The tires are by Haida (an Asian brand). I can't recall the offset of the rims, they don't stick out at all unfortunately. They are my Ruffino Hard. Hope some of that helped. 17s as well :)

The rubbing is the tires hitting the front plastic wind deflector. I just cut the "wings" off of it with a dremal tool. You will probably need to think about a better steering stabilizer now because the stock one is not strong enough to handle the weight of the bigger tires.

You can fit 35's with just a leveling kit and 1.5" so they won't run on your sway bar. Also regearing would be a good thing as well. Just my 2 cents

I just got the Hotheads Headliners kit - make sure you also get the Sound Assassin inserts before you put the insulation kit on. It really helps with the noise.

looks sweet! I have a 3 inch lift with 35's and I was leaning towards getting 37's. Let me know what happens to your gas mileage and speedometer as mine were terribly off after the upgrades but I did the necessary steps to restore those to stock readings and they're fine now

Hey thanks for writing in. I got the same set up as you in gear ratio and it's doing awesome. Mind ya my jeep is only 8 months old so still has that power. With my set up right now, when I pick up from a red light i am still able to leave a lot of cars in my dust however if you go larger then 17 inch rims it will add more weight to your rig. Hope this helps.

Anthony Suarez is correct in a comment below about wheel spacers. SpiderTrac or nothing. But better yet? Proper backspacing on your wheels. The less stress you can put on your stock rotors, lugs, inner c's, etc the better. Backspacing prevents what spacers cause.

I have same basic setup although my lift is actual spring 2.5 inch lift and running 35 inch tires, my 17 inch rims have 4 inch backspacing and I have no rubs at all

make sure you do a regear to get back the mpg and power you lost when adding bigger tires. ..it will also inflict less wear on your engine and transmission

I have an 08 f150 on 35x12.5x17 with a procomp 6 inch lift. had to order rims with -12 back spacing to get rid of rubbing. spacers are dangerous and have seen them fail.

What did you do for the rubbing ? Cause one of the solutions i have seen is that people cut off the rear rock rails. Cause i do go offroad an need articulation. Need your opinion ? I have a 3 inch mopar lift kit and running 31s now and they look puny

saif ahmad hey if you go with 35s you shouldn’t have any rubbing. I had 35s before these and they were good with my 3.5 inch lift. Keep me posted if you take the route

what would you need to do to get rid of the rubbing? would you have needed a higher lift? bc i assume your 2.5 inch lift is already a spacer lift. Also, if youve lost power, there's a way to fix that I believe, by changing the gear ratio my friend told me. I know there's a way to go about it. Thanks for the video....

gilligan1477 what got rid of my rubbing was 1.5 inch wheel spacers. I just lifted my jeep 3.5 inches and that would have been another fix. I appreciate you writing in :). Thanks.

im ordering a 3.25 rustys basic jku lift.And 35 inch toyo mts from desert rat next week.Its actually cheaper than buyin wheels an tires from quadratec.

No need to regear your jeep yet. You can fix the loss of power by using superchip or diablosport tuner. Once you go 37" on the tires then expect to re-gear your axles. I am sure your speedometer was off set. That rubbing can be fixed by either trimming the location it rubs, installing flat fender flares (which give you a more clearance) or do an actual suspension lift to 4 or 5 inches. You brought up the loss power but no mention on how much more it takes to stop. Good luck on your build!

Hey brother. Thanks for all your info. Would love to get bushwacker flat fenders. Also a 4 in lift would look awesome. Gotta convince the wife first. We actually got two new horns 3 months ago and this is our daily vehicle right now. I never thought about that but yes, it takes about more to stop this jeep now. So did you end up using wheel spacers or was the rubbing between the tires and air dam? I just put exactly the same set up (2.5" RC Series II lift and 35x12.5x17, rims 4.5 backspace) and get some rubbing at a full turn either way.

Hugh Kim I ended up using 1.5 inch wheel spacers. You will find that to help if you choose to thanks that route.

Hm... I finally got underneath the vehicle and found out that the front tires rub the edge of the air dam. I cut it off at the corners and the rubbing went away. You probably had a bit different setup. Thanks man.

Get some new rims with a bigger back spacing or get spacers and there will be no rubbing👍🏻

Clifford Cash hey buddy. It's a 2015. V6. I only notice it on the highway when trying to overtake someone, lol. Other than that, I leave other cars in my dust when picking up from a red light to green. Haven't needed to re gear.
