Timothy Harris Nice to see Andriy will take care of that, anyway I'd like to remind you guys that he played that bit in a vid comprising most typical Cliff's, Jason's and Robert's live bass solos, cool to see he's gonna make tabs for that particular DOTG gig so all the 4-string dudes out there can learn it properly! :D Damn, I remember the first time I saw that tiny solo before Bellz, I thought 'WTF has he just done, like where the heck did he take that from man, was he human or something?' haha. Thinking of it now, it reminds me so much of Bach's Toccata and Fugue, a songwriter he absolutely loved.

Note (to avoid silly comments). I played on 4-string bass, but tabs are for 5-string because of a couple of riffs (downtuned to B in the piece of video). Just don't pay attention to lower string for 4-string tabs! Enjoy playing \m/

Hey Andriy, I’m 15 and have just started to play bass 6months ago because of you! I saw your For whom the bell tolls cover and I said to myself: Never! I will never be able to play this and it has now been 4months that i can play this song and many of your your covered songs. Cliff was a amazing bassist but rob is probably way better than him just simply because rob is more versatile rob has way more experience than cliff not because cliffs dead but in music rob have experience in so many more styles of music than cliff sure cliff was a god but rob is technically better

@@landonboyd6630 Cliff listened to many types of music including classical music and wrote the best bass lines and that only in 3 short years in metallica, don't get me wrong i love rob he is a sick bassist and his fingering is insane, but Cliff was the better songwriter by far.

honestly i had never heard 1-8 till today, although Robert T is the man on bass his era in Metallica history is not so interesting. Jason N...was medicore. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets... where the bass was in your face and unapologetic about it were the best albums, Kill em All comes in 3rd but far behind those two. Cliff Burton set a standard in Metal bass that hasnt been met to this day. R.I.P.

Just that happened. Jason had a chance to play fast and technical only on Justice.

Andriy Vasylenko it's not about speed. Even in ...AJFA he was... kind of repeating guitar riffs on bass. That is not very skillful in my opinion

Kappa 123 Rob and Cliff also repeat alot guitarriffs , that's pretty usual in metal music. And yes The only album where Jason had to play like Cliff and Rob now was Justice, cause after that the band decided to take a soft direction
