Hi! Here's an idea for you that might work. When I had a house full of kids, I'd make a double swiss steak, lasagna, etc whatever I was making. We ate one & I froze the other... just like your freezer meals. The difference for me was that I lined the 2nd pan w/ foil & filled it with 'whatever'. I made the liner foil long enough to be able to seal the food up... left it in the pan & froze it THAT way. Once it was frozen solid, I'd take it out of the pan, wrap it again in foil, mark it & put it in a gal or 2 gal bag, whichever it fit in & put it back in the freezer with my pan back in the kitchen to use for something else. If you have a vac sealer & bags you can make to fit the meal... more's the better! Even longer frzr storage that way! I did meatloaf, ham & scalloped potatoes, etc that way. When you're ready to use it... bring it in to thaw... It depended on what it was, but if you want to grease the pan, unwrap it, put it back in the pan & fridge to thaw OR leave it in the foil, thaw it in the pan & then just throw it into the oven. No waste on foil pans, you don't need tons of baking dishes & the vac bags &/or zip lock bags can be washed & reused. Win-win!! Kinda long winded, but I thought you might like to try this method. I actually got started doing this after an expensive baking dish got dropped coming out of the freezer.😖 It was time for a better way!! Hope you're having a good weekend! Gotta go finish this video.🤭

Soak the beans overnight and plant them in the morning. Germination is super fast, just give them enough space in between unless you plan on pinching seedings. Give them some space for air to circulate as they grow...less bugs that way...I do this with dollar store beans, especially the cranberry beans.

Lining the aluminum trays with parchment paper for easy transfer from the tray to the pyrex dish for baking helps preserve the aluminum trays for multiple uses. Remember to take off the parchment paper before baking the freezer meal.

I read online that garlic like that with the roots shaved off is from China. The U.S. does not allow them to export it with the roots on so as to prevent contaminated soil from entering the U.S.
@debbyd5729

That’s an inaccurate way to “tell” where garlic is from. Garlic that’s grown and sold in the US also have their roots removed. It looks nicer to the consumer. I’m not saying that it’s incorrect that Chinese garlic has the roots removed but that garlic bulbs with roots removed doesn’t imply Chinese garlic. 🧄 I’m growing my own garlic for the first time this year and hoping I get some bulbs! I can only grow in pots (in using fabric pots) so crossing my fingers! 🤞🏽🧄

I have lined Pyrex with freezer paper and put enchiladas type casseroles in the pan, frozen it, taken it out and rewrapped it, put it back in the freezer. When ready to cook, unwrap it and put it in the original pan. Your plan to buy more Pyrex would be simpler.

Smashed chicken sounds amazing, actually! I usually make a bunch of chicken in my crockpot, shred a bunch of it and make Moravian chicken pies. I don't much like cooked veggies, so this recipe is perfect, lol! Super easy, just pile the shredded chicken in the bottom crust, put a few pats of butter on top, cover with second pie crust and either bake or freeze. Really convenient for a weekday meal, I only thaw them for about half an hour before baking, and you can serve with any vegetables you have on hand!

If you line the glass dishes with plastic wrap and put your meal ingredients in and then freeze the casserole, When it is frozen you can lift out the food and slide it into an extra large zip loc bag. When you want to cook it just remove the plastic and slide the food into the glass dish to bake. Yes, this is an extra step but the space saved I. The freezer is worth it. Reuse the bags. If your going to pregame, use foil.

Yes! She grows in homemade paper pots so the foil trays would make for great bottom trays, especially if she’s bottom watering. Then there’s no need to poke holes and she can use them over and over again. I use seed starting pouches and set them in foil trays and they do great. I actually like using the different sized ones (loaf, cake, casserole) because then I can arrange the seedlings based on plant type and size of seedling. I find it easier to water and fertilize that way.

I love the way you think when shopping. I also have a mindset of trying to be frugal as well as ecologically responsible and buy the purest forms of all my food items for health reasons. That being said, I'm shocked that someone as frugal as you buys those dishwasher pods instead of powder. Technology Connections channel has a video about those products where he shows that powder dishwashing soap is actually more effective and way cheaper than the pods.

Oops... I'm back... I thought of something as I watched your soap video, but didn't think to mention this. Let me just say that I KNOW LESS THAN NOTHING about making soap. (Thanks to you I'll probably need to try that too now!🤭🤭 But myself... when I cut cake or bars, brownies, etc unless it's staying in the pan, by using unwanted dental floss. If it's something more dense or stiff like fudge & some layered bars, I use florist wire. They both make clean cuts, top to bottom, & by pulling whichever you're using straight out at the bottom of the item being cut... the top & sides cut clean w/no frosting disturbed. Floss gets thrown away, florists wire gets washed & reused. (I'm cheap, did I mention that?)😁 So back to your soap... it made me think of that when yours didn't cut like you expected. I know you said it was a lye issue, & you've made soap for a long time... me... not even once, but I was hoping maybe this idea might help even with a batch that comes out right. Sooo much thinner than the average knife blade. I'm anxious to see your next soap video! Keep smilin'!!😁
