Lee is cool, just grew up different. some people experience the darker gutter side of life and some have a straight line to follow. makes a good dichotomy for a podcast.
@toddmorrissey8372
@toddmorrissey8372 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Hey, probably the majority of people Lee's age grow up sheltered , without much major dysfunction in their lives and really being completely unaware that there exists a way of life so contrary to their own. A life that is full of pain, confusion and struggle. It's not usually until sometime in their adulthood that they are awakened to the fact that there are so many people in their lives that have lived-or still DO live- lives of minimal happiness, joy and health. It only becomes that person's fault to be blind to the bad, darker types of life situations that others live, when they begin living in denial about it and grow purposely insensitive to that.

I understand the criticisms but Lee's absolute squareness makes the perfect foil to Diaz. He gets too deep, when he's talking to other thorough dudes. It's good sometimes (Ali Siddiq!) but you need Lee as the regular straight man.

whenever diaz really opens up about his past and his feelings regarding those memories, it gives me a little insight to myself. Im white and never sold coke but other than that, our lives are eerily similar. The death, the drugs, the crazy stories, the fact of seeing the world for what it is behind the curtain. I feel like I can honestly learn more about myself while listening to him dissect his past. I never seen a future for myself and thought id be dead by 23, like my mom, but im still here and im still figuring out this life of mine. Listening to diaz tells me that i can learn from my past and hopefully continue to create a better future. love ya diaz, keep it up.

Joey to believe that you were going to get that money is just a way of dealing with the problems you were having at the time. A coping mechanism. I was adopted and rejected by my adopted parents and I developed a sense of self importance that was backed up by nothing but I had a need to be important to someone so I put on an air of confidence that eventually fell apart as inside I knew it wasn’t real. It’s natural.
