I think this was one of the best episodes ever! Every single backpack was amazing! (caveat, I don't like leather, I think it feels creepy...but the handmade aspect and the whole giving artists jobs and then still leaving them with enough time to run their own studios, that's awesome)

The most environmentally friendly bag is the one fished out of the recycling bin. I snagged a nearly new Bugout Gear bag that I've been using for four years. Got a leather sling bag about 8 years ago, lots of patina . Now when I see good bags I grab them and give to the charity shop.

Today's student have it sooo good. Back in the day, the jansport backpack couldn't even keep books dry. My artbook was damaged during el nino and how do you have a final when the water got through the bag?

I bought a basic camel tan leather backpack in 1989 when I started college. It was a no name bag and cost $150.00. That was a lot of dollars for me during that time. I used it work for decades at work and traveled around the world with it. I just finally retired the back pack last year when two of three zippers gave way. The leather was still in great condition and all stitches were intact. It was the only item left that I hold on since college.

I have a MCM backpack that was pretty expensive and I’ve had it for a awhile now but I say if your someone like me who brings a bag everywhere they go, go for the higher price one it’s better quality and will very most likely last a longer time
