@@atgdcommish608 , ESPN has already informed the ACC they will not renew their Contract. Florida State, Clemson, and now UNC have expressed their intention to leave. The 7 is now 8 with most likely landing spots in the forthcoming P-3. There is a Composition Clause that mandates 15 members. Should 1 school leave on or before June 30th 2024 the ACC/ESPN Contract is terminated. SMU join the ACC on July the 1st 2024. After that should two members leave on or before July 31st the ESPN/ACC Contract is terminated. ESPN solely has an option to stay until 2027, but they must declare that option by 2025. So, No there is not a tv deal that runs through 2036. The ACC Network is already on its death bed. When an undefeated FSU is left out of the playoffs, it is time to go. The State of Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is going to clean the ACC’s clock.

@@atgdcommish608 , That is the “Lie” told by ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips & others in that ACC Office in Charlotte, NC. There is a Clause in that ACC/ESPN Contract that ESPN must inform the ACC on or before February 2025 if they will extend the ACC Contract. ESPN has already told the ACC they will not extend the contract, that means at best the ACC/ESPN Contract runs through 2027. You need to remember Clemson is suing the ACC as well to get out of the Conference & UNC has expressed their desire to leave the ACC as well. Good Luck. 🏈

Does it really matter? ND would love to join. Now, get rid of Northwestern, Rutgers, Maryland and Indiana. All this falls apart in 10 years or less. Every school for themselves is the only way to go. Why does OSU and Michigan get the same as Rutgers? What do they bring to the table? Its kinda dumb when you think about it. Share money with teams who NEVER win....DUMB.

It’s much more complicated than just football. Not saying you don’t make a valid point but it’s just not that simple.

Even though I hate to admit , but FSU in the SEC has a strong potential of being a Top Tier 1 football program ( UGA, Ohio State) for the simple fact of the SEC hype to young players, Expanding their recruiting, and UF’s incompetence would make them the defacto football power in the state in a conference that signs the best talent. FSU in the Big Ten would shrink their recruiting footprint ( except for California) and would allow the Tier 1 programs of that league to directly recruit against them. Also, unless they’re willing to shell NIL millions annually like Ohio State and USC, there’s not many recruits in their region that wants to play in the Midwest. Funny enough, I think their fans and administrators are so dumb, they would rather Big Ten over SEC 😂

FSU wants out no matter. The BIG has indicated AAU is not a requirement. The SEC has already told them no. However Clemson might still be on the SEC radar. All the schools trying to leave believe they have better landing spots

FSU is a top 10 brand by viewership, Clemson isn't that far behind. Even if the two schools had to accept reduced initial revenue compared to existing conference members for a period, these two schools shouldn't dilute the value of either conference. FSU's academic and research profile is comparable to about 12th place in the existing B1G, so while it doesn't have AAU status right now that isn't a massive concern and would be easier to get after entering the conference. FSU is more desirable to the B1G, but Clemson offers a good value proposition - as for the SEC, it's about defending their footprint. Would they accept the B1G bringing in two national brands in the heart of their footprint - and in the heartland of their prime recruiting grounds?

FSU will Never be in the same conference as UCF. So the B12 is out for them. They will stay if their landing spot falls apart but they aren’t doing this for nothing. They know where they are going

Let's be real: besides the Big2, ALL B10 schools are "Tier2". Same w SEC. If/when the Big2 want, the 'othr' schools will certainly agree to 50% revenue share. Already, schools agree to 0% / reduced revenue share to join confs.

They’re not the problem

First the Pauly (FSU) guy needs to research before he says incorrect info about teams, VT in only 20 years has won the conference 4 times not once. Second though I agree VT and Mia haven’t done much lately VT came in the conference and won the very first year and proceeded to win 3 more times in next five years. I’d argue both Mia and VT left the scrappy tough “old Big East” and slowly became just another ACC team. Note no one mentions VT still has more ACC wins than FSU since VT/Mia joined in 04 and is only second in the conference behind Clemson.
