37 Yang taiji by Ding Shui-de

This is a great version of the Yang style 37 form as performed by Ding Shui-de 丁水德. Ding live in Kunming, Yunnan province and was a student of Li Ya-xuan and others. This performance is taken from his VCD series.

I'm very new to taiji and I just had the chance to see master Ding in person, the first time I've seen a taiji master in real life, and it was amazing to see him do the full 84 form (I think?) Yang style as well as hear his answers to our questions. If I can move half as well as he does at age 81 when I'm that old, I'll be very pleased. Actually I'd be ecstatic if I could move that well now at 37! What an honor to have him visit and teach us!

Even in Yang Taiji there are several variations . I think its only natural . not every person is the same in physical body .. it doesnt mean that the taiji principals are forgotten or discarded . I like this form as well , just as much as i like the form i have learned . Respects ,

Yang LuChan ---> Yang JianHou ---> Yang ChengFu ---> Niu ChunMing ---> Ding ShuiDe (1930 - ) Master Ding is living in Zhejiang province.

i think this is the family form from Yang Zhen Ji & Yang Pei Xiu Rong's lineage. I've done that variation a few times and I think this might be it. My Shi Fu is from the lineage of both Yang Shou Zhong and Yang Zhen Ji/Yang Pei Xiu Rong and teaches both. Nothin' like the family stuff for my money!

This form was apparently created by Ding and Meng Xianmin, who is the grandson of Niu Chunming

Respectfully, this posted T'ai Chi form is not Grand Master Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing 37 Postures. ** Perhaps the comment below from Mr. Michael Reynolds is the accurate version to be the title on KZfaq?

ZMQ's form isn't the only 37 move form out there. The Yang style has several versions of a 37 move form. Do a KZfaq search and you'll see more than ZMQ's stuff.

Ding shui de was a disciple of niu chunming who was a top disciple of Yang Cheng fu

@@patrickschlageter7561 Niu Chunming was a disciple of ChengFu's father, JianHou, who before he died assigned Niu to assist ChengFu in teaching taijiquan.

This is not to be confused with Real Tai chi. the Chinese have RUINED Tai Chi. What a shame.....

@yin taichi I've noticed recently that you've posted similar negative comments on other KZfaq channels showing Tai Chi that you don't approve of. Obviously, you are welcome to your opinion, but perhaps you could qualify why you think that way. What is your opinion based on? The person here is performing with considerable skill that has taken many years of practice. If you consider that it may not show specific applications or style method that you are interested in, that shouldn't mean that it is 'ruining' Tai Chi as you put it. How do you define 'real' Tai Chi anyway? Perhaps you could explain and share a link or post a video yourself, so others can understand you better.

Since you don't consider Niu Chunmeng's (One of Yang Jian Hou's best disciples) Taiji to be "real Tai Chi", lol, I'd love to see what you consider "real Tai Chi".
