Many people think that cochlear implants are an easy fix and don’t understand just how last resort it is. This explanation really helped.

This was very helpful. I would benefit from this Doctor's help. I have had hearing loss head trauma and Vertigo going back to 1984. Army veteran for 10 years 82nd Airborne. My tinnitus is so loud I have trouble hearing nothing but the noise associated with tinnitus. I recently passed out in the bathroom and when I came to on the floor I threw up. Try to stay focused is getting more difficult every day.

I got an appointment with this genius in the end of february - he's giving me a lot of useful (and depressing) information on my Meniere's. (i should start learning ASL)

Very enlightening episode and I've probably listened to 80 different people talk about this stuff now. I would be curious more about hormone disregulation. I recently got Tinnitus and sudden onset hearing loss in my R Ear (diagnosed as 44% pressure cochlear hydrops). Lost about 55-60 db of hearing in R ear (so far, I'm 4 weeks in). I've had ZERO vertigo. Prior to the acute event I had some acute neck pain around the muscles/nerves around the axis/occipital bone areas. I had a bad cough for about 2 months prior. About 4 months prior to that, I started TRT as my Testosterone was 386. So now I'm at 840. Feel great. But also curious if that's too high and maybe could have caused this episode of hearing loss/tinnitus?

Are vertigo and dizziness two different symptoms? Is vertigo "spinning" whereas dizziness is loss of balance? Does Meniere's only cause dizziness?

I am so confused..I have watched so many people tell their experiences with meiners. My problem or questions is...Mine happens for maybe a month or two of the "Fullness" than my actual attack occurs after that. Mine does not happen right away,I suffer with being off balance a bit and just the fullness and being almost completly deaf for a long time before I get the actually dizzy, vomiting attack. Has anyone else suffered the same way? Please could someone answer me that. I actually am going through it currently.

A friend with menieres went through a really awful 4ish year period where she suffered from extreme vertigo with vomiting and lots of fullness. A lot of days where she couldn’t get up off the floor. That finally let up. She’s very careful with food and with what she does and isn’t troubled with vertigo very often or very long anymore. She always under-eats, very thin, no alcohol and no salt. She takes a diuretic. No bike riding, no sports involving sudden movements. If she drives the car, she’s okay, if someone else drives she may get sick. Winding roads are still an issue. It’s a lot of stress on her. Wearing hearing aids all day was a rough transition, they’re just irritating to the skin after awhile. When it’s just the two of us, I wear a blue tooth microphone. It’s great.
