I'm the mom of the kid, and really, you weren't rude, we were walking through the neighborhood (walked over the Bklyn Bridge, had dinner in Chinatown, walked up the river to the Whitney, then Highlined it up back home.) He was just shocked to find you standing there talking and got excited. He felt bad not because you told him to hang on, but that he had lost his cool and barged in like that. You chatted with us and took photos and we left and we went to dinner. No harm, no foul, it was great to see you irl, and you are taller than I thought ;) His friends all dig the photo, and the apology was very kind, now he's more impressed with your decency. Keep on doing your stuff. +Beth Jameson, he likes Casey's videos, Casey's attitude and while he did show off to his friends, it's because they all like Casey too and would like to stumble across him sometime.

It's a bit odd though that he would brush off some kid for valid reasons as he was busy, but then draws massive attention to himself by flying a drone out in the streets? If you put yourself out there to the public, you have to expect that as part of the job if you were busy or not, that kid is one of the 5mill + people who keep watching his vids daily. I'm a massive Casey fan btw and the important thing is he recognized it by talking about it in the vlog. :)

Just because he's well known doesn't mean he should be interrupted and feel obligated to accept that. People need to be less rude. Him flying the drone and him speaking with a business partner are two different events.

Don't get me wrong.. I really like Casey and his content (I've been watching for a few years now), but he does appear to be pretty rude sometimes. I bet that kid was just excited and didn't mean any harm/didn't have the intention of interrupting his conversation. At the same time, I get that it is Casey's place of work and I can imagine how hard it is to navigate through his day when people mess with his work flow. I just think there is a more appropriate and polite way of handling things, especially considering how much his subscribers support him and everything he does. I suppose he doesn't need my two cents, though. lol xxx

Your feeling of carefulness could be an impression due to an altered perception of time or something like that. I would want to take a picture with him just for the memories :) Meeting someone and saying hello is wonderful in itself but if you can capture that moment in time and look back on it, that's a bonus. I wouldn't want to say hello or take a picture with any famous celebrity. The picture is for me, not for anyone else to see. I don't post those things on social media. I suspect that John Smith is right though; most people like to show off these encounters to their friends however, I see nothing wrong in that either. Just sharing your excitement and happiness with your friends.

Drones are so advanced today and I can't understand how a drone can get lost when it is out of range. Why can't the manufacturer program it so that when it is out of range, it will return to its preset co-ordinates set by the user. I don't think it is that hard to code this function.

thiamjoo the Dji Phantom 4 does exactly that - it returns to launch point when contact is lost. One of the reasons I purchased it. It works.
