It’s not that I thought he was gonna retire, it’s that the only position anyone can do moving forward is to either do a reboot or do prequel movies. At this point he’s in his 70s and the suspension of disbelief that a senior citizen that isn’t supernatural still slashing away is harder to manage. They kinda backed themselves in a corner continuing the timeline and grounding him as just a man. From what it sounds like though, they’re going the route of going back to the original and I could be wrong, but you might be only able to get away with doing that only so much before that in and of itself becomes stale.

One idea I would love is a manhunt series. Get the guy who played Loomis in the Blumhouse movies and have him be the main character. Follow Loomis' obsession with Michael's evil after the 78 events as The Shape pops up in Haddonfield, terrorizing people at night. That's been my idea since I first heard of a Halloween TV show.

Well, it's confirmed Freddy, Jason and the Evil Dead movies are linked. Jason is confirmed to be a Deadite. Jason's mom used the Necronomicon to put a curse on Jason. It's explained in the sequel comic to Freddy Vs Jason called Freddy Vs Jason vs Ash and on other connected comics. Freddy Vs Jason was supposed to have Pinhead show up at the end confronting both Jason and Freddy in the pits of hell. Oh, the Dagger and Necronomicon from Evil Dead show up in Jason goes to Hell. If they end up taking the script from the canceled Halloween Returns movie and turn it into a series it would be pretty dope, or if they take an anthology route they could make the series take place in the 80s after Michael disappeared from the 78 film and the series could show multiple strange events on Haddofield that also happen on Halloween

The reason he was dying was because he was dying from multiple infections since he had untreated wounds that got infected. But if you seen the movie, you would know what really killed him. Which was, Laurie slitting his throat, his wrist and stabbing him in the arm pit causing him to bleed to death. So no he didn’t die from old age

I think one of the main reasons this is happening is because Jason Voorhees is getting his own TV show. Michael and Jason are arguably to of the most recognizable characters on horror history, so I think miramax is trying to capitalize off of that. Two competing shows about the most popular villains in horror history would generate a TON of buzz. Either way, I’m super pumped for both of them.

I wonder if they could do a Halloween Returns type of idea for this if anyone has read the cancelled script for that movie it would be a cool way to do a series or movie for that script. I do want to see a sequel to Halloween 6. (Follow up what happened with Tommy, Kara, Danny and Stephen who is Jamie's newborn baby and is the only living family member of Michael and show us what happened to Loomis) A sequel to Resurrection were we see what happened to John and follow up that story from H20. Maybe even a sequel to Halloween 4 and give justice to Jamie that she deserves. The director of Halloween 4 Dwight H Little talked about maybe doing it and he even said how he would title it. I would like to see it but who know if it will happen.

If they do a reboot as a tv series, and they do it like Robert Rodriguez did with the From Dusk Till Dawn series, it could work really good. The first season was, basically, a remake of the film, but expanded and more in depth. Absolutely Loved It.

@@RedCommunistDragon You should see the original script they had with Jamie as the killer called "Halloween 5: The Killer Inside Me" which featured Michael teleporting, debilitating himself, Jamie having psychic and telekinetic powers, Dr Loomis as a straight up villain, and Michael dies from not being feared at and explodes into a pile of knives, revealing the little boy in a clown underneath it all.

His immortality, endurance, durability, strenght abd regeneration in that timeline is enough. We don't need a second Jason Voorhees. Would rather have H7, H8 and Michael vs Pinhead (which would have featured Jamie as the final girl) than having a totally evil Loomis and Jamie becoming a carry-like superhuman.

Go back to the original novelization with the festival of Samhain place that in 63, it was arranged by Silver Shamrock and the evil curse was placed over Haddonfield. Loomis investigates this after H1 unrevealing these twists and leading to a bigger story covering what led to the 63 and 78 nights so it's a prequel/follow up to the original film.

Honestly, I seriously think that the Halloween franchise needs to just live on in legacy at this point. Considering how messy the franchise is at this point with all the multiple alternate timelines, etc... I'm just not really interested anymore. Sometimes you need to just let something be as is, instead of constantly flooding the market with the IP... especially considering the constant mixed results this series has seen since the third & fourth one (even though I love both of those).

I would honestly love to see Cronin's take on Halloween and Nightmare Elm Street. Also the idea of the tv show and movie being connected is a good idea however, personally if they should've gone with the anthology approach of season of the witch. Where the TV series and the movie are there own self contained stories with little hints they're connected. Infact personally if it were me I would have the events of both the show and film go on simultaneously. Where the movie's events starts around the second half of the show's first season.

Remember, the original idea for Halloween from John was supposed to be an anthology series Michael wasn’t supposed to be the main star. He just happened by fan popularity. Maybe the series going into the universe is that an anthology series? Connecting the stories of Season of the witch and Michael and the Silver Shamrock mask company
