Would it also be possible to export grasses that move slightly in the wind from a real engine to simulate a background or a composite of a small forest to be able to place a green background subject on it? Please

@@drikeproduction I haven't tried to import animated assets into Elements, I don't know if that's possible. But I would suggest to export your grass animation from unreal as a png sequence and bring it in AE for compositing but you won't have control over the angle so you'll just have to plan your shot in advance.

Excellent. Reminds me of an interview with Deakins about a simple mat fx for sky fall that saved time and money. It’s simplicity and effectiveness we’re so elegant. Likewise this shot of yours. it’s great to share insight where simple but effective cinematography and the understanding of the combination of blender and unreal is really so much of what we see in modern film content. It’s often taken for granted and you have struck a wonderful balance of creativity and technology. Even better to see it being used for your own passion project so the care and detail is there. Good luck with everything and thanks for the post.

I got into filmaking and VFX over 6 years ago before I had kids but had to put it on pause, now that they are 6 and 7 I now have time to start again. I have my Canon 650D I originally bought and barely used and an Iphone 13 Pro Max. I am thinking the 650D is a bit dated now, do you think the Iphone will do the job if not what do you recommend for around $2k

The two ways I've done that are (i) with the Camera Plate plugin, and (ii) with Composure. Neither is nearly as hassle-free as Blender. They're both frustrating in different ways.

Thanks for the tutorial mate, great job. Just a question: why not use Blender's camera tracker? It appears to work quite well from some tuts I've seen (I can't say from my own experience because I usually track in Nuke).
@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms
@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and good question! You certainly could use Blender, and I have several times. I created this tutorial mainly for people who are familiar with the AE camera tracker, since it is a bit simpler to use than the Blender camera tracker. It also allows you to have a matching 3D camera inside of both AE and Unreal, so that once you export your footage from Unreal Engine, you can add elements like text or titles, or even composite live action elements into your shot while using the same exact 3D camera you used in Unreal. Just makes things a little simpler on the compositing end inside AE. Thanks for watching!

I have to raise a question, which is that whether I use UE5.1 or UE5.0 to render this video texture, the video screen in the rendering results often gets stuck, showing black edges, and I can hardly find any way.

Hey man, how do you copy the solids from ae into blender?
@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms
@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching! You should be able to just highlight and copy the position, scale and orientation parameters from the solid in after effects, then head over to Blender and hit the "Create Plane" button in your AE2Blend plugin. The plugin should automatically paste the data from After Effects onto a newly created plane in Blender, which should now be positioned properly in relation to your camera. Hope that is helpful!

Hello and thank you for watching! I think I had this happen to me once, and I think the issue was that I forgot to click the "Import Sequence" button, after clicking on "Export for UnrealEngine 4" in the UE4 Exporter tool inside of Blender. Maybe go through the process again and make sure you click "Import Sequence" before pasting it into Unreal. If that doesn't work, maybe check and make sure that you have your camera selected, have clicked on "Export Recursive", and just make sure that your camera shows up under the export list. If you've done all those things, it should work, but there could be some other issue I haven't seen before. I used Unreal Engine 4.25 for this video, if you are using UE5, that could potentially be an issue, however I haven't tested the process with any other versions of Unreal, so I'm not sure...Hope this is helpful, and I hope you can get it working!

@@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my question. I've finally been able to solve my problem by downloading the Dev version of the B3D for UE addon. It now works with Blender 2.93.2 to both UE 4.26 and UE5. Thanks again, best regards. @BoundlessEntertainmentFilms
@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms 2 жыл бұрын
My apologies for the delayed response. It's possible you don't have your lens focal length matched from your After Effects camera to your Blender camera. That would be the most likely case I would think. You can check the focal length After Effects calculated for your tracked camera by clicking on the camera layer and going to Layer > Camera Settings. It should be listed there. Hope that is helpful!

@@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms Hi, I have kind of the same issue, The tracking seems to be pretty good in AE (with an average error of 0.81) but in UE it seems to drop some frames. My Camera focal lengths are identical (61.4°) in AE, B3D and UE4. And my fps are all set to 24. The final result is kind of ok, but when you look closely there are some sliding effects. Is it something that you've already experienced or Am I missing something ? thanks again for your tutorials.
