I always liked the 1.6 version of Train the best, as it wasn't too CT-sided (as in Source and early CS:GO) and it felt way more open and simple compared to the one we have today! I miss the times when you could actually hide under the trains, and even plant the bomb in cheeky spots ;)

2:13 "He wanted Train to be more about CQC with many chokepoints and with less emphasis on sniper action." Interesting how this intention barely translated into the actual gameplay since IMO Train is one of the maps with MORE long distance fights and a lot of freedom for snipers. Fallen dancing up and down the ladders with the awp is one the most memorable highlights on the map for me

The only CS game I played was Source back when I bought Gmod in 2013. I played CSS only a few times, I didn't really like it because I had only gotten it for the textures on Gmod. Back in 2013, my brother was playing CS:GO, telling me it was a cool game but hard. I ended up buying it not too long after because I didn't think a multiplayer FPS game could be that hard, that's when I started playing competitive, finding out that "Bullets don't stay in my crosshair!". I've had fun with this game over the years and am more intrigued by the history of the game now because of your videos. Also Philip, if you read this, I'm glad to made the gamemode "Smash" I enjoy it on Gmod. It's a very fun and relaxing game.
@timosaro54847 жыл бұрын
Your story is really similar to mine, except that I bought it in 2014 (for Gmod aswell). I played it for like 50 hours in 6 months or so. Then my friend told me (April 2015), that there was this game called CS:GO. I hadn't spoken much to him before, but the game made us good friends and I'm still enjoying it now, although I don't really have enough time to play it properly.

12:04 The grabber on site A wasn't moved so it was out of the way, it was moved so it was above the bomb train, which was also moved. The ground around the bomb train is cracked and the train itself is badly damaged because the grabber dropped it, which is why it makes sense for the grabber to be above the bomb train.

Such a goodl map nowadays, which is unfortunately not very popular among lower level Matchmaking players. The map is very CT sided which can lead to Old-Nuke-ish games.
@kevkong7 жыл бұрын
train was always a map which would work better with teams which trained nuke and actually are a team, because you have more positions where you fully depend on your m8 doing the right job, on other maps you always have some time to comprehend, on train you are dead as fast as your teammate who did not get his job done right. I still like to play it in matchmaking but is much harder and more frustrating with randoms than other maps are, therefore I kinda understand its lack of popularity

It's the same one, there was another ladder on the other side which could've been used as a sniper nest too I guess but it's gone now
@jurchiks7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there used to be a platform opposite the current sniper nest on A site, which you could climb up to using a ladder. It was the highest spot in the map, and pretty unbalanced/OP, since AWPing from there was very powerful - you could only be killed by a grenade, someone climbing up the ladder or on top of the carriages and shooting you (easy to defend against), or going too close to the edge and getting shot from below.
@egalomon7 жыл бұрын
I see. But was it worth? I imagine you could watch connector and Popdog from there (and of course the site itself), but you'd be very vulnerable to ivy and had no line of sight to the main entrance from T spawn..

***** None of the people I play with really like it either, so we simply just don't play it. We're not looking to go pro or anything like that, we just play it to have fun. Cache is a really fun map, and I like the new inferno, I feel it did a lot to improve on the claustrophobic feeling from the original one.
@elikay21017 жыл бұрын
Honestly though, you should play every map, just because you don't like the map or have had bad history with it from the first few times you played it, doesn't mean that you should overall just never play it. I've had people dislike maps just because they played it once and got a hacker, or just because they don't know it they won't ever learn it. And trust me, being able to play more maps adds so much more to the game, you are already limited to such a small selection, why limit yourself. It's much more enjoyable when you have even one more map to choose from and play.
@rich10514147 жыл бұрын
