20+ year open water swimmer. Sight off anything you can, the sun or moon’s positioning, look for a tree line, buildings, etc. look up every few strokes, certainly not every stroke. When you look up, your butt sinks and you slow down, so make sighting fast and not very often. Don’t listen to him, open water swimming is fun. I’ve been in almost every condition, heavy fog is the worst.

I’ve also swam in pools and in open water for 15+ years, worked as a lifeguard, pulled a lot of people out. A couple of years ago, I went off alone and almost drowned in a swell. I tried to cut through it and got slammed into a bunch of rocks, my left shoulder got so fucked, I could barely lift my arm. Thank god I had flippers on, I did this semi backstroke, using my good arm to guide me, focused on a tree on the shore, I couldn’t believe how quick the tide would turn me around if I wasn’t 100% focused on it. I’ve never felt so powerless in a body of water before that…

@@Anonymous18817 Chad would be the one to ask, but I’d say train train train baby. I trained back it the day to CJ Caraci videos on VHS. I don’t know if they are available today. As far as bones I guess drink more milk? You see I never actually made it in, I went to MEPS and signed up for the delayed entry program and was supposed to leave for Orlando boot camp in two months, but I had a race car accident with three weeks to go and tore my ACL in my knee, so I had surgery and the navy gave me a medical discharge while waiting to go to boot. Then after rehabilitation of my knee I went and signed up again six months later and by then bill Clinton had became president and he started closing bases and putting restrictions on people that cannot enlist. ACL was one of the restricted items so I couldn’t re-enlist and I tryed again a year later and nope. So I don’t know anything about it like Chad does. I just know that I tryed like hell and trained a lot and wish things had been different. I think back then 28 years of age was the cut off. So you can definitely still try. I’d rather see a woman get in than some of these trans, woke , and/ or fat people get in. I hope they haven’t lowered the standards.

Struggled with it as a Marine where we didn’t actually train too much in water at the time and then at Naval Academy where we had to swim every year. @@bodidley5015 I worked as a lifeguard every summer from 16 to 22, I’ve pulled a lot of people out of the water. 95% of the times it’s people who can’t swim in shallow water, but the 5% are experienced swimmers and they are the most dangerous ones, cause they get in deep. My worst memory is with this guy one afternoon, he was snorkelling all geared up in quality equipment, spends an hour diving around, but I saw the tide turning, so I signal him to come back. He tried to turn around but after couple of mins I realise he’s getting pulled in by the tide. I’m 19 at this point, the more senior guy (ex navy and swimming coach) sharing the shift went to buy us coffee, so I really didn’t know what to do. I radio him and tell him I’m going in, he tells me to prep and wait 2 mins till he gets back. But I couldn’t just wait around and look at a man drowning in front of me. Got my flippers, I was an absolute IDIOT and didn’t get the rescue tube, cause I thought it would slow me down and the guy was good enough not to need it. I jump in and get to him, he was cramped up, but knew what to do to make my life easier. Started to swim back to shore, but couple mins later I realised I was just getting deeper and deeper, never experienced a tide like that before. Thank god the guy could swim, so managed to hold out until my colleague came for us. Back in camp, the old timer chewed me out. I made the mistake of talking back and telling him not to get in my face like that…I’m never fucking with someone who’s served ever again, he was 50 something and beat the shit out of me easily. I totally deserved it too.

Not a military guy, but swam competitively for years and worked as a lifeguard….always swim parallel to the shore if you want to be safe. Tides can turn you around so quickly, you always want to have a clear sight of where the shore is. Free Advice: Do NOT do your open water swims anywhere in freshwater ponds or lakes in the Southeast United States!! Alligators WILL eat you! If you're wondering if a given lake or pond in Florida or other southern states has gators.. if it's freshwater and it's knee deep or deeper it has a gator in it!! Checkout the teeny tiny ponds at golf courses.. i used to snorkel in them to recover golf balls to sell to golfers. Their are DEFINITELY gators in most of them.

Hebrew any day over KJV. The KJV was written to make it difficult for the commoners to read. It allowed King James to have power over those in his kingdom

I was never in BUD's just regular aviation department on an aircraft carrier and shore base over 40 years ago. I personally don't think women should be in the SEAL's, if you got that much gusto you better try to become a pilot or co-pilot. The reason why there are so many women in the military now is they couldn't start the draft after 911, so they start getting more women to join. Women are ideally support personal only a small percentage can handle more than that, look at auto mechanics you don't see many women ripping cars apart everyday. Being a good support personal is very important and appreciated. I would look at aviation Helicopter squadron maybe a medic for rescue work possibly pilot training. I have a customer she's a shock trauma helicopter nurse likes it.

Chadd, you think we've lost our country? Maybe it's because I'm in New Mexico, but it doesn't seem like anyone is willing to fight for her. Now I'm some kind of terrorist because I love my country. Have we already lost her Chadd?

You probably should do a little more reading, and that particular verse you’re referring to about tattoos and marks on the body was under the law of Moses. It does not pertain in the present day. Jesus, Christ is the only way.

Lisa you can be critical of him but do NOT call him a coward. He served and he put his life on the line for the country. A lot of SEALS have lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq. I was a SeaBee in the Navy. I did some work for the SEALS. I saw them up close. They were anything but cowards. Show some respect.
