Here I am renting a tiny apartment for $1200 a month in Portland, Oregon USA surrounded by homeless people and crime galore, I am seriously considering moving to Mexico and jumping around for a couple years since I can work anywhere with a wifi and single again! Thanks for the inspiration.

Just some advice I live in Southern Idaho and housing and rent going up but some small towns still might have cheap rent. My rent 400. A month and has never gone up. Also in some places you can by land 1000. Acre but alot of these places are just land.

What are you waitin for, I thought, that’s plenty of money, I from mecsicou, she could save a lot of money if she cooks, like sea food is nice and fresh, and some restaurants once or twice a week, maybe like 200 dollars on food, and you can spend whatever you want in tours around islands etc, night clubs, whatever you want with the rest, so think about it, I realized that 1500 Is what you pay only for the rent.

Welcome to Mexico 🥰 My only recommendation if you’re planning on moving to Mexico is PLEASE don’t forget to break the ice and mix with the locals and also learn some Spanish! Most of the foreigners stay in their foreigner’s bubble and miss out from a wonderful experience. Also as a sign of respect to the locals 😁

@@MrStayAlive “Yo” they do learn English or at least they really try their best to communicate in English when they’re interacting with English speaking people. If they choose to speak Spanish to their family members and you don’t like it, that’s another story. @@ricochet2769 Spanish isnt even the official language of mexico it was braught there by the same people that killed everyone native to that place and enforced their religion on the people, same as in the states. All i did was ask a question you are the one implying I would be upset for them to speak their native tongue to their familys or implying that they dont try their best to learn english. i never said any of these things. you are proving my point here and you dont even realize it. The double standard is real. i asked a simple question. if i ask people to learn english as a sign of respect. thats how you put it. if i ask people to show me respect by learning my language is that racism or bigotry. or is it only classified as such bc im white? I find it offensive that you ask me to learn a language out of respect. I show respect in many ways I dont need to learn a language to do so. language is for communication. actions show respect. still waiting fo an answer to that question too. simple yes or no

Nice find. We had a bit bigger apartment in a tourist town in Estado de México and paid about 3 times that. But, we had 2 bedrooms, a covered terraza overlooking the lake and got to watch the most amazing sunsets. The inside of this apartment reminds me a bit of ours. Not as rustic a location but, 10 minute walk to town. Loved it.

There's a little crime and corruption most places you travel; however, there's also locals bending over backwards to help you, too. The Mexican People are very honest and hard working, but some are unskilled and uneducated, too. You need to take the good and the ugly anywhere you go - I see most of the good in people.

wow! such a lovely apartment & Deb has a sunny personality! plus, she's a real beauty & so lucky!: her hair is just *fantastic,* too! and as a fellow woman👸🏾 it's nice to know that, with certain precautions taken & living a close knit neighborhood, it can still be safe for single women ex-pats living in Puerta Vallarta. I traveled alone to Ensenada once and really loved it..and like your friend, I never tired of having fresh seafood🐟 every day! and for such great prices, as well compared to what it costs to eat like that on the west coast, USA. the cost of living difference for ex-pats is one of the many reasons Mexico is on the list of places I'd consider moving to next. would have also been great to know how long it took Debbie to establish herself there as a tour guide, how she did that. and what kind of Visa she needs to be able to work there..snd also, even though everyone's case would be unique to the, I'm wondering what the 'ball park' overall money figure is re: maintaining her legal status there - a general idea would be good to know. if you or someone you know is acquainted with any good immigration lawyers in Mexico, how about setting up an interview with them? they could get more specific about the kinds of visas available to foreigners - and what amount of money one needs to have on bank record in order to live there. including the age requirements for the various kinds of visas [for retirees vs. younger adults, families, business owners]. and if there are any economic visas or economic citizenships available, would love to hear about the steps one needs to take in order to have that opportunity. time frames, etc. the lawyers from around the world who I've seen interviewed about those topics have been so informative..it's also nice to see who we can trust ahead of any visits to their country. and in return it's a great, free advertisement for their legal services and has brought them many new clients.👍

Nice little apartment has everything you need with a great price.I could see myself living in a place like hers .She is doing the smart thing get the hell away from the city center ,expats and touristy areas and you will see rental prices falling dramatically .If you are a beach person and want to live by the beach and you have the money then go for it.I like the beach but I'm not crazy over it so living away from the beach works for me .I live and grew up near the beach and I have to admit I only go to the beach like once every 4 years or so .when I was a teen I would go like 6 times a year .When I say i grew up near the beach ,I'm talking like about 5 miles from the beach.
