Chap stick! My lips always got insanely dry. Also bring an extra bag to bring all the hospital goodies home in. Sometimes the hospital has bags but I’d bring one folded up just in case. And a folder for all the paperwork for baby!

For sure the Boppi or a breastfeeding pillow. Trying to get the hang of nursing as a first time mom was so stressful. The boppi was such a lifesaver as you will have baby on you for a while until you both get the hang of it.

My number one thing I brought that you don’t have, is an electric heating pad. Those after birth contractions were killer for me and it made breastfeeding so traumatic but the heating pad helped take the edge off! Also, we brought an extension cord to plug in extra electronics ( like the heating pad) cause the outlets were so far away from the bed. You are going to do so amazing! Can’t wait to hear what you actually use!

You’re almost to the finish line and about to get the biggest reward of you’re life mama ♥️ I honestly didn’t use half the stuff I brought because we were in such a tired little newborn bubble. If I’m glad I brought anything it’s my own gown to labor in (will reuse for next baby), I used one from Kindred Bravely in a plum color so ultimately all of the bodily fluids didn’t even stain it! Looks brand new and I used it for a bit post partum too! Also happy to have brought some comfy PJs, my boppy for nursing, and a blanket from home because those hospital blankets aren’t it!

Boppy! It was so much more helpful than I thought it was going to be! The my breast friend one was actually nicer/more helpful for me for the first 2-3 weeks and then the Boppy became easier/more helpful (still use the Boppy at 5 months, but the my breast friend was a lifesaver for those first 2-3 weeks!!)

Pack a power board! There is limited sockets and when you need multiple things charged at once it could be handy. Also post partum compression shorts and comfortable large underwear!

Yess the story of the mom! I walked away from my nephew for two minutes out of a diaper to let him air out and he popped and smeared it all over himself and the carpet! It took me forever to clean up. I went into a straight up panic attack

So, so exciting! ❤ Probably already on your list: fairy/Christmas lights for the mood. And hottest tip that would have saved me: if you feel nauseous in labor, ask the nurses for an essential oil anti-nausea sticker. They very likely have one, and as soon as the doc reminded the nurses to give me one, I stopped vomiting that instant! Magic.

I always just wore home what I wore there, lol. Always showered before leaving the house and they get you in a gown very shortly so they were pretty much clean. My water never broke naturally though, so that helped keep them clean. I can't believe how close delivery is!!!

I m in the trenches of newborn life with my last child. Its always so hard for me. You are blessed to have Jack work from home. Its crazy how much time and work a tiny person requires.. sometimes it feels impossible to do the simplest task...of course i have other children making this challenging . Dont feel bad if its harder than you thought. Thats normal. Your emotions may be all over the place the first few weeks...totally normal...i was sobbing because all my baby can do is eat and sleep 😂

Just gave birth 10 weeks ago! I'll second the L&D gown from Kindered bravely. I didn't actually use it during my labor or birth, but it was SO NICE to have something soft and cotton that felt like mine to change into after the birth was all done, especially something easy to try to nurse in and for them to check my epidural location. I brought a super thin robe but didn't end up using it at all cause i was too hot anyway. YES to bringing your own pillow - Make sure Jack brings one too! Also wash and prep pillow cases that aren't white so your pillows don't get mixed with the hospital's pillows by accident. The pillows at hospitals SUCK and are rubbery and just weird and uncomfy. Also if you've gotten yourself an upside down peri bottle, BRING IT!! The one at the hospital isn't great. I got a 2 pack of peri bottles that hand longer necks than the Frida mom one and it was SO WORTH IT cause you'll likely be using that every time you got to the bathroom for at least 2-3 weeks post-delivery. Honestly just from my experience, i wouldn't worry about bringing your own adult diapers/frida mom underwear/pads/etc to the hospital. It's nicer than what the hospital will provide for sure, but you'll be going through pads and ice packs so quickly at first that it's better to leave that nicer stuff for when you get home. Just bring your own peri bottle. Also take EVERYTHING when you leave the hospital (extra pads, tucks pads, dermaplast spray, ice packs, disposable underwear, etc.

This community is so kind! My favorite items were my labor gown from kindredbravely, wireless headphones and ipad, all the snacks, and the real organic period disposable underwear/diapers. Also east access pj gowns instead of pants, as it was easier for nurses to check during postpartum.

Our nurses really complimented it not only for “style” but ease of access. I basically wore it several days straight because of my labor and I was so glad not to be in a thinner hospital gown.

Jack actually just trying to destroys your video comments with the car seat drama. Definitely want to see this sidequest of Jack trolling Facebook mom-groups. Also, how ridiculous to shame people gor what they do or don't bring to the hospital -- everyone's needs and experiences are different. It sounds like you've been super thoughtful and deliberate, definitely saving this to reference when the time comes for us as well.

When you start labor, don’t be in a rush to run to the hospital. It’s not like a sit com. You’ll have plenty of time. You’ll be more comfy at home and try to stay upright-standing, walking, leaning on hubby and counters. Sitting is ok too. Let gravity help. I felt out of control when lying down-much easier to handle contractions upright. In the hospital they want you in bed a lot to monitor and check things. They will let you get up, but there’s a lot of downtime too and that was very uncomfortable for me. I labored mostly at home and got to the hospital about 2 hours before my first (IVF!) baby was born. Less than an hour for the second. No epidural. Easy labors. Wish the same for you. ❤

My first baby everything went perfect I had massively overpacked barely used anything at the hospital so of course next baby I massively underpack and we ended up having to stay in hospital a week for the labour/birth and postpartum concerns, such as breastfeeding. So honestly there is no such thing as over packing you never know until your needing it and it isn’t there ❤ 100% disposable underwear that already has a built in pad, it’s my number 1 thing i absolutely couldn’t go without for first couple days after giving birth, I put a pad in the disposable underwear too it made everything feel like it was secure and didn’t have to worry about leaking because that first bleed is heavy at first ❤

Aside from snacks I didn’t even open my bag until I was getting out my outfit to go home 🤣. My one pro tip is that my feet were so swollen that I couldn’t put on the shoes I came in and had to have my husband run out for flip flops in a bigger size. Next time I’ll be prepared for that!
