Jason Bourne do cardrooms rake higher in those pots? In the us rake is in general fixed and not a percentage of pots. In case it is somehow higher in those bomb pots then yes that might explain why they wanna have them at hi frequency.

@@grindix I think the overall rake (total money raked) will be more because everyone is in at the beginning. And these pots tend to get big because in PLO everyone usually has a little piece at least and equities run closer.

@@jasonbourneistreadstone yeah but the rake is usually fixed in US live poker. maybe not in the cardrooms where they have introduced these bomb pots. either way i didn't mean it in that these PLO bomb pots are introduced to get holdem players to lose their money but in that they play them rather bad not giving much consideration to quartering and free-rolling. In this hand rampage is kindof coolered with a 2 way hand but when your opponent raises turn with that much behind you should be taking out of consideration that he s doing that with the nut straight on top (T9) if he s anywhere near decent as that hand is getting freerolled very easily by boats on the bottom. This makes K5 and KK very much a reality if not a certainty as nut hands on the bottom paired board that are raising with also made hands on the top or at least very strong potential (diamonds or straight draws or combo). still a tough fold for sure in this hand but you keep seeing these vloggers push the bill with a one way hand thinking they wanna scoop and end up getting freerolled or quartered for monster amounts.

Great point mate. I always feel his overbets are too greedy. Not called often enough. One thing worth mentioning here, is he will only be called if the op has a straight if he bet's that much, and there is a small chance he has one and is enducing.

@@jamesjames1327 he must have fractured it good, he has it splinted i think, can take a while to heal. If it sets wrong sometimes you have to get surgery to set it right, which can extend the time you wear a splint

I learned this the other day but you calculate pot with your call in it first. So if it's $100, $100, and you pot it. Your pot bet is a $400 bet.

You don't but as the reply above me said, when you raise pot, you calculate it by essentially putting the call into the pot first, then raising the total amount of the pot. This also looks like a home game which often times have very poor dealers so wouldn't be shocked if they were just ballparking it.

On the flop when he bets $200, it should have been corrected to $125 as the pot was only $125. So when 3 players call the pot on the turn would $625, not $925 as ethan had it up on the screen. However, Its possible that he indeed bet “pot” since his turn sizing of $600 would be nearly pot as opposed to if it in fact as $925. Let’s say if the pot was $125 and ethan was in position and a player bet pot, and there were two calls, and then Ethan re-pot, his bet would be $625. Pot+Bet+any/all calls in between ie; $125(pot) 125(raiser) 125(caller) $125(caller)+125(ethan)= $625 total bet.

That "more than pot math" only applies to preflop when there are blind bets out there. Post flop the amt should have been corrected to 125
