A word of advice to anyone who is considering going to Japan... GO! GO NOW! The exchange rate is incredibly favorable right now, especially from the US Dollar $. It is like everything is discounted 30% off (accommodations, food, trains, etc.)

mid january is the best since the snow is falling the hardest but it can be tricky to get around so early february might be the safest to go!

We skipped a lot of tourist spots since we've been there in the past but depending on what you want to explore, 4 days is pretty good if you don't move hotels much 👌🏼

I bought a ticket to japan this November but I’m stuck on either going to Osaka/Kyoto or Hokkaido, I’m landing in Tokyo and staying there for some days but I heard Hokkaido’s prices on everything is a bit more expensive, is that true?

the prices is pretty much the same imo but you do have less option there ( if we compare the city tokyo and sapporo), also osaka and kyoto are already far ahead developed in tourism compared to some area in hokkaido like biei or furano
