8 gauge ofc is rated around 60 amps, 4 gauge ofc Is rated around 135 amps and only drops with length. I got double runs of 4g on almost everything for a 2300 watt system

It's a little much but hey if the connections allow and you already have the extra wire, why not? I ran 8 ga ofc from a 1200 watt Rockford amp to my sub box for no other reason than I could.

Yup, that's what I did w my skar rp2k lol.

hell I would even run 4g on a remote 😂

Definitely not I'm learning the hard way bro that everything helps I just upgraded from 14 gauge to 8 gauge my kicker CXA amp has small flat input speaker holes I went to lows and bought some tongue lug terminals and modified them with a Dremel tool to go in the slots on the amp and it made my subs hit so much harder literally every upgrade I have done in the past few weeks has made them hit harder I didn't realize how underpowered my setup was everything is getting upgraded now

Bangin trunk setup homie
@mumbols6 ай бұрын
If it fits it ships. I would if I had some and I have before. Sold it all so what I have now does not need it, but if I still had my spools I would do it anyways 😆
@BDauto865 ай бұрын
Totally unnecessary, 8ga is plenty in those short runs from amp to sub. But hey if you have 4ga around and it fits it certainly isnt gonna hurt.

Hey bro so I have a major update and a few major problems since the last time I messaged you to start off I'm finished with the power supply 240 amp autotech dual run to the back feeding a 29AH SCIB bank from NORTHWEST LITHIUM with the voltage control module charging at 15.8 now for the equipment I have a Deafbonce AAK 6k and I'm waiting for a Deafbonce AAK 180.4 for the doors,fans for both the amps and alternator and the sparked innovations 4 channel relay to control them,new head unit, DSP etc I have literally ordered EVERYTHING except the door speakers and they are coming probably going to get 4 of the 300 watt rms Deafbonce Arnold's and with all this I am having to learn how to tune everything so I bought the SMD DD-1 and CC-1 combo package and the last two items I can think of besides the copper SMD fuse blocks is the down 4 sound HD3 single 15 enclosure and a 15" Incriminator audio TYRANT rated for 5K RMS and I have a whole bunch of monitoring equipment coming like subwoofer temperature monitoring system LF Audio volt meter, basshead garage wattage/Impedance meter and so much more I'm wondering if you can tell me a solid go to place to learn from others how to tune everything properly so I don't blow my equipment I'm trying to be ready in time for the XS power show in July but it's going to be close and I will be posting videos of everything trying to learn from people on here as well i posted a short last weekend when I was installing the SCIB bank and AAK 6k but I am going to post more today or tomorrow for sure

What is that you used to seal the trunk is that thick foam panels cut to fit?
@1ohmwrecker5 ай бұрын
Yes some stuff I had laying around the shop at work. Although I took it out. The foam was squeaky while driving and drove me crazy. And come to find out I'm a whole 1.2db louder with it out when I metered it again 🤷♂️ a friend on tiktok was 3db louder after unsealing his. Weird how that's works both ways...
@Barberdan5 ай бұрын
You signal wires are enough for your primary power wires from that short distance asking that much power. Absurdly common overkill mistake. Also that front facing port and sub will have bass sound waves finding themselves and cancel to a degree. It certainly will still put out most of it's potential but you're going to want it facing the rear of the car since it's close and a strong surface. I made all these mistakes early in my sub system life.
@1ohmwrecker5 ай бұрын
If u look at older videos, I did have it that way. But it was blowing license plate lights, and making things not work. It was tearing my trunk up. I got a decent car so I had to swap em around. Still sounds similar, but possibly a bit less windy if that makes sense. Still does a 147.6db so it ain't too shabby.
@Barberdan5 ай бұрын
@@1ohmwrecker I've seen windshield cracks grow before license plate light failure. Might be a problematic vehicle. I did 149db with three 12" Alpine Type R subs and 4000Wrms in basically a wall in a regular cab 2007 Tundra and never experienced any problems. Vision sure was blurry and scared people out of it but nothing broke. Perhaps insulating the wiring and bulbs you found failure with but that's foreign to me.

Is AB amp better than class D for sound quality on the mids and highs or not noticable?
@1ohmwrecker5 ай бұрын
That's what they say... but I have not noticed a difference personally.
@Contact_Info5 ай бұрын
@1ohmwrecker I'll go with D I think due to electrical drain higher on AB.
@xtv0075 ай бұрын
I think it makes a huge difference. I like a lot of clear mids and highs with the bump. My ears get fatigued by a class D over AB. I'm not using anything crazy special but a Kicker DXA250.4 after trying a Rockford 400-4D and a Kenwood X802.5. The Kicker is very loud and way smoother sounding to the ears than either of the other two amps. It takes a 60 amp fuse.

Why did you run those 6x9 on the back seat instead of the rear deck?
@1ohmwrecker5 ай бұрын
There's only a subwoofer and like 2 3 inch rounds in the rear deck. And the subs would probably blow them unless they were encased I assume. It blew the factory sub. Too much xmax and it's not even hooked up😂
@stevemaniaci47505 ай бұрын
That what happened to mine in the rear deck . So I have to remove my hertz 6 by 9 just couldn't handle the pressure . Nice amp you got there you did a good job sorting it out.
