fun fact: "manda batmaz" means "buffalo doesnt sink" literally. the foam of the turkish coffee they serve is so thick and rich that even a buffalo sitting on it does not sink.

The Asian side is our home! Love it! But going to Karakoy is a must. "Greg is having something that is lamb" 🤣🤣 I love the creaminess of the corba and adding the lemon is the best. Yes, the sumac is not necessarily that spicy as other red pepper spices in Asia.

Hey guys! watched this while eating mums home made ba ku teh. This was such a joy to watch, being able to see the amazing architecture from the European side and then the food was just insane. The Balik Durum, Muscles and the Baklava looked crazy delicious! Do the tomatoes taste like how they do in Greece? Cause I can imagine they are so flavourful cause of the colours. NZ tomato's are unfortunately not as flavourful.

You are killing us with that midye dolma, we wanna eat that every day of our lives forever Gulluoglu is awesome, Lieles still dreams with that chocolate baklava. We went there and film with a friend that is there, he did a great tour of Karakoy as well. He also said the same thing, compare to Lebanon baklava, the one there is very generous with pistachio. Cay can never be missed

We're do down for this old school baklava spot. It's one of our favorite desserts, curious about the chocolate too. There's a spot here in Chicago that makes Nutella baklava and it's sinful.

So cool to see you in one of my favorite cities in the world, let me know if you need any reccomendations or info about it. You’ve gotta try lahmacun, pide and definietely pilav whoch looks like just rice with chicken and vegetables but is an amazing and healthy meal. Kadikoy on the asian side is a must see neighborhood both for eating, atmosphere, cafes and sightseeing (especially tea gardena in Moda)

Funny you mention Kadıköy because we’ve stayed there our whole time in Istanbul and so glad we did! What a wonderful neighborhood. We fell in love with Istanbul quickly We’ve eaten our fair share of pide and lahmacun. Great to eat more baked dough after a year and a half in SE Asia. Still need to try the pilav here. Have seen lots of shops selling it.

I believe karakoy is facing the Golden horn sea, not bosphorus. And overlooking europe / the spice market area.

Oh yes a lot of Karaköy faces the Golden Horn, like where we had the balık dürüm near the Turyol stop. But that area where the other ferry stop is you face the Bosphorus since you can see Üsküdar and north
