HI Carsten, how would you explain the difference btw "longed for" and" lacked" if it's still not clear after this explanation? I had someone saying "...yah but both is the same for me: I'm missing something!". Thanks for sharing your experience :) BR Xenia

I know exactly your point! And I also struggle to articulate it. I often use Longed for is something that would have been nice to have but not need to have, where Lacked is need to have but that was not there...

@ Thanks, that fits for me too. I explained it as - The "longed for" is more emotional like a wish but you can live without it. - The "lacked" is a much more rational must have/must do.
