I used to think, oh I just worked out or got a run in, I can eat whatever... but the mindset changed to, oh I just worked out or got a run in I should REFUEL what my body needs. there's still time or opportunities during the day to eat things you want, but ultimately prioritize what you need for max recovery! Great vid Brody 💪🏼

Heck yeah! Tbh one of the biggest reasons why I would run is that it would ripple effect into the rest of my day and a positive light 🤟 and that was what I was trying to make a point of in the video, running is highly inefficient for burning calories. Calorie control and daily steps as much more efficient 👊 but I love your mindset shift! 💯 keep becoming more you 🤟

This is the most accurate video I’ve ever seen on KZfaq. Great advice. It took me 18 years of lifting and dieting to find this out. So you guys are lucky to get this info for free. You have a killer physique bro. Inspired 💪🏼.

Dudeee. Love that! I agree man. I’ve coached a lot of normal, everyday people, former athletes, dads, etc. And the 75hard / extreme approaches never keep results long term. Even though I love a goggins mentality, it unfortunately paints a pretty extreme approach that’s not in the cards for most and therefore, too many ppl think being really fit is out of reach 👊

I really appreciate you and your honesty on how can be our very best in 2024. The concepts you mention - progress over perfection , extreme anything is rarely sustainable, instead of counting calories - lets choose the best calories for fueling our body and a consistent routine of sleep, movement, nutrition etc. Love this! You don't offer quick fixes for us, but gently guide us on a path that can lead to great results. This advise feels right for the body..but feels right for the soul. Thank you again for this guidance 🙏🏼

Great video Brian!! I have a few questions #1. What should my protein goal be a day if I’m 4’6 127 pounds? #2. I’m a college student and being a college student it’s really hard to eat healthy. Ramen and cheap fast food restaurants at my school are the fastest and cheapest way to go (and most tempting lol) what are some ways I can discipline myself to avoid these unhealthy foods while at school? And what are some healthy snacks I can pack or ask my parents to buy?

Great video Brian! I've been working on changing my food habits over the past year, such as replacing regular bread with whole grain bread, swapping white rice for brown rice or quinoa, and cutting out pasta because I feel bloated after consuming it. Additionally, I've been incorporating more daily protein and greens into my diet. I hit the gym five times a week and strive to stay active throughout the day. Although I've gained muscle over the past year, I continue to struggle with losing fat. Could this be because I am consuming more calories, even though they come from whole foods, than I am burning daily? I don't keep track of my caloric intake, but as I've become more active, I've noticed an increase in my appetite, leading me to consume larger portions.

Hey man! LOVE this! Congrats on all the success in your journey so far. Sky is the limit. Yes, to your point, one can still be in a surplus eating whole, single ingredient foods (although it's much harder because the real food give nutrients and tell your body you're full). But this happens so the solution is to bring a greater awareness to what your consuming and the weekly trends. We help our clients to this in a simplified and empowering way ✌️ 🤟 Keep going!

@@BrianPruett Pretty much what you're doing now, a little bit of everything, training, diet, types of exercises, how many sets, reps, what you do for rest and recovery etc . . . for your followers it's like watching your favorite TV program, use a what you're doing on a day to day process so everyone can use what they like and what applies to their own situation. That's why Rich Piana was so successful, information and entertainment combined, some have the personality to do it others do not, you do and are able to use that template.

I've adopted these principles for the past few years. It's allowed me to build a pretty athletic physique, my back squat is 390, deadlift around 430, can do a 6 minute mile, "quarterfinals" crossfit athlete, train 1.5-2hrs 5 days a week, aim for 8 hours of sleep, etc. We take our nutrition very seriously, eating whole foods, organic, sourdough, etc. But I feel like getting that last little bit is the struggle. In living this way, I comfortably maintain around a 15% body fat, so while I look pretty athletic with my shirt on, I definitely don't have the kind of definition you do when I take my shirt off hahaha. You talked about not dieting or restricting calories, but what about someone like me who has plateaued with such a consistent, dialed in plan? Don't you think there's still a time to expedite the process and go on a cut to get leaner, and then apply these principles? Like say you suddenly gained 10-15 pounds of fat overnight, would you not change anything? Thanks man
@BrianPruett
@BrianPruett 5 ай бұрын
Yes for sure 🤟 great point. If you want to lose body fat, you’d have to be in a deficit to you’re point. That maybe does involve less calories. My only point was that you can’t just eat less and do more cardio. Muscle is a huge part of fast metabolism and building muscle is essentially building stock for the future. Way more than cardio. Your situation would need to be monitored and coached as you track. There could be some leaky points in your routine or week that might shift things drastically if improved. You’re a stud though it sounds like. 12% body fat is optimized for sure 👍

So what’s the verdict on late night snacking? If I eat early I find myself hungry by bed time. I try to go for a clean protein, hard boiled egg or spoonful of almond butter to satiate. What’s your move?
@BrianPruett
@BrianPruett 5 ай бұрын
I love that! it’s important to know that late night snacking isn’t inherently bad. Any type of food, however, right before bed has been shown to potentially decrease quality sleep as your body goes into digestive mode as opposed to sleep mode, relax mode 🤟 that said, my favorite is dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joe’s, glass of milk maybe with protein. My not so guilty pleasure is chocolate strawberries 🍓 bottom line though, if you are in a deficit but the late night snack put you into a maintenance or surplus for the day and that equals a surplus for the week, that’s when you will keep or gain weight.
