I’ve been on 3-11 for over a year now and I have come to love it. Slow mornings, never having to wake up tired, not having to rush my morning routine, never taking off work for a doctors appointment…it’s all really nice. I struggled for a bit to get used to waking up when I didn’t have anything to do right that moment but now that I’m adjusted it’s awesome.

I’m a 911 operator in Canada 🇨🇦 and I can definitely agree, I work 2 days 2 nights on 4 off, 12hr shifts and I am just ready for days off by day 4 especially after nights, I love it, It’s challenging and rewarding, also taxing. I appreciate what you do

As a police officer's kid and later on in life dating a police officer (now CID who wishes there was a night shift for that here), swing shift has always been my least favorite. It was a 1400-2200 shift here and I felt like I never got to see them. We live in a unique area where we have one city in two states. Each side has its own government and departments. We also have county offices in town. It is as messy as it sounds. My dad was hired by both cities, but he chose one side as my mom worked for CPS in the other state. Now, both sides have gone to 12-hour shifts. I am so thankful for friends at all of the different agencies! You are appreciated and I know it's hard shift to work because almost no one outside of shift work has a similar shift and/or days off. Thank you for working hard at keeping the world safe and for your work on KZfaq to humanize the badge, especially from a female perspective.

Hi Stefanie, I give you credit for working second shift..it is not easy, it has its pros/cons for sure. I worked second shift as nurse and I found myself missing out on my kids and life events so I had switch back first shift. I hope your able find work life balance. Thanks for protecting the community and I hope your dad is doing well. 💖

Hey Stefanie! Your videos are awesome. I have an opportunity to become an officer but I’m hesitant because of the amount of danger I see officers in everyday through various sources. I live in a small town and would be working for a small department. Do the fights, shootings, exc, occur often or is this just blown out of proportion by the media? I truly do want to become a LEO but I just don’t want to be in crazy situations everyday. Thank you very much for your service!

Do you drop the pups off with your parents every day? Or are they okay at home for your entire shift? OR is there another arrangement sometimes?? I've gotten used to working close enough to home to run over at lunch, but I'm thinking of switching things up so I'm trying to figure out what others do. Thanks for all you do!

Do u fear like sleep related issues coming along the way ? I heard people who work night shifts eventually has others problems with their health since our bodies naturally want to sleep when it’s dark even if you get 9 hours of sleep. Thank you for your response incase
