@@Alice-Efe you're a musical gigachad. funny that so many metalheads are into electronic music. i also am a metal guitarist. brutal death metal and thrash mostly. absolutely into this synthwave and cyberpunk stuff lol
@musictraining50712 жыл бұрын
@@Alice-Efe could you do some more videos about songwriting perhaps? how you develop ideas and then find the right types of sounds. i've started this year with electronic music, often i have good musical ideas (i at least believe so) but then i struggle with finding the right sounds. i try to make my own music, but i often want to use the sounds from popular genres such as synthwave, but not use typical synthwave songwriting (i prefer more complex stuff, i also like to put guitar playing into it).

I want to thank you so, so, so much for what you do, like I actually have no words for how much these videos mean to me. You pulled me out of this rut I was in for over a year. I was so frustrated because no matter how hard I tried, I just didn't understand what my favorite artists did to make their songs stand out. My stuff sounded so goddamn bland and it depressed me to no end. Over the course of the last couple of months though, I started to understand what they knew all along. Sound stage, drops, drum patterns, EQ, SFX and how big of a role they play in dynamics, how my instruments relate to one another and how I should think outside the box/ outside of 4-bar-loops. And that's largely because you explain all this stuff so well. I've been watching many other tutorial series over the course of the last couple years and have learned a lot, but none of them have come close to what you do. I feel like I'm scamming you because I get to watch this for free, no matter the topic, you just know your stuff and it's evident! Every small snippet, every track used in your videos sounds excellent and would be something I'd put in my playlist. So, again, thank you Yalcin, and I hope you know how awesome you guys are.

Cool video! It’s a completely different genre but if you want to hear some awesome examples of polymeters check out Meshuggah. They’ll do stuff like have a 4/4 on a cymbal and then the kick pattern might play alternating groupings of like 7/8, 5/8, 7/8, 6/8, (with some other rule/pattern of a number of notes of an even different length) and then it’s all snipped to fit inside 4 or 8 repetitions. It’s really interesting stuff!

Dear Yalcin, thank you so much for your vids - they are so helpful! Everytime I'm watching you doing crazy stuff I'm asking myself: Is it even possible to learn all this stuff totally by oneself? Did you had some kind of professional education somewhere in your life, or did you become this genious all by yourself? Greets!
@Alice-Efe2 жыл бұрын
I had classic guitar training so most of my music theory knowledge is actually coming from that. I also played a lot of different instruments and bands and got practical learning that way. All these being said, I am 100% that you can learn all these by yourself. It is all about being persistent and learning everyday.
