The few complaints I have with this show was that Chase hardly use the fistagons and in season two they showed Gert being able to see through Lace’s eyes but they did nothing with it.

Reason 5: It wasn't on Netflix!!! I was really interested in the concept when I first heard about it, but wasn't about to add a HULU subscription. Only have seen it because it was on Disney +. Stunning a show with such a large budget and so few viewers got 3 seasons.

tbh, it saddens me that it got canceled. Like you stated in your video, most of the characters had a lot of potential. What sucks is the fact of how underused Gert’s character was. She was never allowed to use Old Lace, yet she still stuck with the group. Also, season 3 felt rushed. They had decided to add a new plot into the story 2 episodes before the final episode. I was also hoping that they cleared up some plot holes in the last episode, but i guess they didn’t. So, my questions are; what happens to Janet? Would Victor ever try to get her back to physical form? Why did Alex try killing Nico first, and why didn’t he plan an investigation first, rather than just attack his friend group? Did Gert ever go to Smith? What happened to all of them after they had saved Gert? Ughh, i have many questions that unfortunately, will probably never be answered :)

It was a good show ! 10 out of 10 all the way. Im still confused about the last seasons last episode where Future alex left past alex a note to kill nico?! Thats kind of a cliffhanger if you ask me?! And i also hope that they will bring the show back by making season 4.

I think budgeting specially with Gert was a big down game. They made her sick for a few episodes where she pretty much was not seen. It’s abit sad. Her passion for making a better world and being very political could have made her character grow massively

It was an oddball of a show. It should have gone darker with the whole "missing kids in Hollywood" theme. I didn't read the books but that seemed like a theme worth exploring.

I feel like it mainly got cancelled bc of Disney+. when season 3 came out they were already preparing Marvel shows to move there, and cancelled a lot of other shows at other platforms (Cloak And Dagger, the MCU shows at Netflix). I was really into Runaways when it started coming out and there was definitely a strong online audience for it - whether they were able to watch it on Hulu which was heavily country locked at the time was another question. and I think one thing they should have done was to keep less focus on the parents starting from season two - the kids should have had more screen time.

I REALLY liked the depth given to the characters compared to the first run of the comics. Chase especially went from a skateboarding slacker who stole his tech from his parents to a tech savant who built his own. The first volume had them as 1-dimensional stereotypes at best. Even the parents were similarly 1-dimensional in the comics and I really liked the expanded roles and backstories they gained on the show. One issue I did have though was the disconnect with their motivations and I don't know if this is a generational issue or a writing one. All of them had overwhelming reliance and emotional dependencies on their parents. Even after the parent would try to kill them they would still abandon everything to help them. As a Gen-Xer who was parked in front of a tv for most of my childhood, it annoyed me that they didn't have a stronger sense of independence. Their relationship as 17 years olds who were months away from legal independence but were so bound to their parents doesn't make sense. Again I'm not sure if this was intentional to better separate them from the older comic and appeal to modern younger audiences or just bad writing or just a generational divide. Another issue, which may have contributed to the "where do we go now" feel of the later show, was trying to translate the very comic-booky nature of the original comic series into a more realistic show. The comic series was very heavily colored with common superhero tropes (the second volume featured former teen heroes trying to keep the Runaways from following in their paths, for example) and almost none of it would have translated well into a serious drama. While I think the comic had a very interesting premise there wasn't too much they could directly port over unlike a lot of the CW shows which I feel limited the show's potential directions. Yes, they may have dressed like normal kids but they were living in a 100% comic book world with vampires and androids and time travel and other teen heroes to interact with. Trying to start a new setting while dripping in all the nonsensical aspects of the Marvel Universe they were enmeshed with would be a very hard task for any team of writers. All in all, I think it was a decent but flawed show which greatly improved on its source material but I also can see why it didn't make it as a long-lived series.

I really loved this show. I had my gripes with it though, like the constant sjw things with Girt, really made me roll my eyes. Was also sad my boi Alex didnt get Nico like he did in the comics. Sometimes Chase really acted out of character. But I did enjoy it, loved Chase, Alex, Robert, and Victor Stein the most out of the show. Last episode was my favorite cause of future Alex and Chase.

I just finished bingewatching the show and I gotta say I really agree with what he said, old lace has to be te biggest waste of a dinosaur I have ever seen. There was this one moment by the pit that she came charging and I was like 'O yeah, let's g...' and she got blasted away. Sadly that's the closest she got to being usefull. I hope they do continue the show and actually give her something to do

My fav character would be Alex or molly he was just a character that people thought they didn’t need and he he did everything to not become their parents he helped with money to find food and stay hidden all while having Morals to NOT become his parents. My favorite underated characters are xavin and livvie livvie showed care for Alex but was torn away from him once he started revealing more stuff and xavin was just being as helpful as she could too help protect Karolina as well . Fav episode is when livvie and Alex kissed in Compton!!!

I fell out of it after season 2 ! Here's why that whole children vs parent stick has gotten old and was no longer interesting i mean hated them cause they found out their parents was killers understandable but once they found out that they was manipulated and feared by this powerful and unknown alien that forced them to kill those victims there children should've been more understanding once they found that out but instead they still wanted to bust them and throw them in jail for their crimes ! But instead of United with there parents to try to take the alien down they constantly rejected them ! I just lost interest cause i wasn't about to watch them fight there parents for 3 or 5 seasons just cause of their childish misunderstanding !

I love the runaways Alex , nicko, and chase are my favorite . Season three I was in awe of Tina as a master of the mystic arts from another sanctum and just when the story got amazing it was cancelled. Morgan was an amazing villain worthy of dr strange and I would love to see nicko adventures in the future as she continues to study at the other sanctum.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Runaway’s but it went from finding out your parents are in a cult to fighting them and being on the run constantly, AND THEN- Nico and her friends had to deal with a witch. It went all over the place.

Hands down Gret has to be my favorite because based on the anxiety and all the social issues she has I relate to her....... and the best episode was probably the last two of season 3 I cried the whole time they were so sad 😭😭

I know for a fact that Marvel is going to bring back some characters from the TV series, but I wouldn’t mind if they make a new version of the Runaways, with a cast that is not in their mid 20’s and with an appropriate budget for this kind of series

I really enjoyed Runaways, I hate that it only went for 3 seasons, but I'm happy they were at least able to do that third season. If they had to cancel after that season 2 cliffhanger, it would have been brutal. I wanted more (season 4 at least), but am happy that they were able to write it in a way that they could try to give some closure, but leave things open for more stories. I was thinking that if they tried letting the runaways have a cameo appearance in one of their current shows, I think people would want to know more about them, since the viewing platform of Disney Plus would be much bigger than what they had on Hulu. Then they could probably see on social media how excited people would be. Some because they don't know who they are and want to learn more about them, and others because they DO know who they are and would be excited to see more of them. The cast for the runaways was perfect, and I think they'd really fit in well with the MCU (imagine Nico getting mentored by Dr. Strange, or Karolina getting mentored by Captain Marvel, or GOTG if something's happening in space. Can totally see Chase or Alex working with Stark Industries). Just my hopes, really liked the show and would like to see them return, and think other fans would really appreciate it as well. I just finished it and my gosh I loved it I have to say it was better than Wandavision and The Falcon and winter soldier in my opinion. I really wish that they would add another season like the clone wars (even though it wouldn’t be really necessary) just to tie off that possible season four start off with Victor Mancha. But I still really like the ending I just want to see more as I was really invested on the show.

I cried when Gert died in episode 9 but I think they should have left it there (like no 10th episode) because Gert's death gave meaning and idk I valued the whole thing less once I watched episode 10 I liked it and was happy that the 6 were a family again but if I could change it I would leave the going back to save Gert part out and have them explore what life they were having.

The fact that Gert could could link with the dinosaur and that was only tried once in passing was a let down. Alex, Carolina and Nico were the only ones useful. Molly was not only very very young but she lacked the maturity from the rest of the group. I feel like Gert was only there for political correctness.

The Runaways is actually a smart and interesting show. The guardians of the galaxy was on the other hand very hard to watch because of its stereotyping and other ethical issues. We need the runaways back.

I just finished the series today, and I have to give it up for the creators, they did an amazing job with the CGI effects and all, especially the storyline, it did get weird or boring sometimes but it always came back with someone better to offer, it's sad that the series had to "kick the bucket" but it was for all good means, this was a fantastic show and I hope it one day gets continued.. (This show was the reason im kind of failing in school 😂)

I stared this show thanks to Disney+. I’m in the uk and we can’t get Hulu and I think this was one of the main reasons this show was cancelled. Runaways is always compared to the Netflix shows numbers but it reach only a percentage of the viewership. Netflix is a massive worldwide platform, whereas Hulu (as far as I know) is only available in America. I hope they renew the show on Disney+ so they have a chance to explore all that characters more and expand on some of the lose ends in season 3. My favourite characters were Gert and old lace and I’m so disappointed that they didn’t really get a chance to show their powers in the series. They could of expanded on them so much and I think of the show wasn’t cancelled they would have, like when Gert is controlling old lace running when she’s with dale.

I just finished the show, and it ended in such a high note! I dont read the comics, but with a quick google search they definitely had a lot to play with (potential stories, using characters etc) and didnt! Personally, I think the writers didnt 'go for it' until the final eps. They upped the stakes and it paid off better in the end. Also, hulu probably doesn't have a budget like netflix/hbo to throw money at shows.

The lesbian subject is good and all bit I feel like it would fit more for Gert to be a lesbian other than nico. Maybe it's just me but I liked nico with alex. The fact that he didnt give up on nico but she gave up on him was really crappy. If they did remake the show I feel like Karolina should not have made a move on Nico.
