My top 10 in no order are “The Witch,” “Innocence,” “I Only Have Eyes For You”, “Becoming Part 1”, “Becoming Part 2,” “The Beauty and the Beasts,” “The Prom,” “The Gift,” “After Life,” and “Conversations With Dead People.”

I love/prefer the original charmed, I had to stop comparing the two shows in order to enjoy the reboot. The reboot is a good show as it’s own entity.

Good video and thank you. The moral of the story for me was… Buffy like any other strong willed, morally centered, and intelligent woman is complicated and a work in process. Her journey is not just a boyfriend but completion.What does it mean to be an independent woman that has love has a central purpose for her life. Remember what the first slayer told her… she has a great capacity for love. Love not just sex… and Buffy like sex… but a spiritual love for people that is special and very rare.Then add the complexity of her soul is also forged from darkness. Riley and the rest of the normals never stir the soul of Buffy. None are drawn or obsessed by her being. There are 3 males that are drawn by the power of Buffy… Angel starting in Season 2 Episode 21… Dracula who comes around the world to meet Buffy then quickly wants to seduce Buffy, and finally Spike. These are the only 3 that make a fire in Buffy and they are consumed by her. We know from the past of Angel and Spike that slayers weee adversaries and nothing more. Yet Angel becomes obsessed after watching her in LA… Spike during Season 2. Remember Drusilla tells Spike he is reeking of Buffy and that is why she rejects Spike. The future reader Drusilla sees Spikes path before he does. What makes Buffy different… it’s the combination of the darkness ( seen in Faith, Kendra, and doppelgänger Buffy) and the soul of love that can be tapped. This powerful combination is what attracts Spike and Angel … 2 romantics in life.. and why they are both overwhelming in the control of Buffy’s affection. This is one reason The First has been after Buffy for so long. The combination of dark power with pure love makes her the most powerful force. It’s just Buffy is still growing and does not full know herself yet. Like she says… she’s cooking dough and needs to bake before she is what she is.

For me the pivotal moment was when she cast the gypsy spell in Beginning Part 2. First understand the reason for the spell, vengeance. Jenny’s uncles speech is about vengeance and he does not care of the consequences or if it is evil. The family has given up redemption for revenge. This is the spell. Giles warns Willow that the spell may open darkness in Willow but the chance to be important and give Angel a soul is to tempting. The audience and the Scoobys want to restore the soul for the love with Buffy but we all forget the spell is based in darkness, vengeance, and human punishment for personal satisfaction. Once again, opposite to a Slayer. Willow shows her first bit of Dark Willow completing the spell and tells the gang she felt it go through here. Then over the next 2 seasons her attempts to have good spells fail and backfire but those with death or destruction work. Then in Something Blue she is recruited to be a vengeance demon. This would not be out of the blue but is done with someone ready, willing , and a able to the demons. Rewatch the scene of the Vengeance Demon offer. And I see Willow given some thought. She only rejects and goes back when she views Xander and the Scoobys in danger. Buffy would have said Hell No and been firm In her rejection. Buffy has moral clarity and Willow has institutional morality. Remember what Angel and Spike tell Buffy about the nature of Vampires. They reflect dominant characteristics of their human nature. Angel was a amoral narcissist who becomes a self pleasing sadistic killer out for pleasure. Spike was a hopeless romantic that Drusilla mixes sex, violence,lust, and love when turning him. This Spike is a sexually confused Vampire. So what was Doppelgänger Willow Vampire. Sadist,( can I Play with puppy?), controlling, evil leader, sexual, and street smart. So this is Willows Vampire nature so it means this is also a strong part of human Willlow. We loved the picked on lovable teen but unless you have a Moral center of deep love and forgiveness of people the you will succumb to vengeance and personal hatred of others. Willow was doomed to be like a Warren Or Johnathan but Buffy gave her a lifeline. Giles thought there was danger ahead but typically stayed out until too late.

Glad to see somebody talk about this subject. The movie was almost unbearable to watch due to the toxicity messages

My favorite episodes tend to be the funny, quirky one off episodes rather than the action packed series finale episodes. I like all of Buffy, but my most rewatched episodes are the funny ones - usually with Spike. Edit: Fool for Love is probably my favorite episode. Loved the way they filmed the scenes on the subway switching to the alley seamlessly as Spike tells the story. The scene where Buffy throws the money at Spike telling him he’s beneath her breaks my heart every single time.

Good list. I agree pretty closely. Mine is 5,2,3,6,4,1,7. Just couldn't get into 7, and anytime I see a reactor do Buffy, I stop at 6 lol

I don't agree with you at all. The original was much better than the reboot which is why it lasted twice as long.

I feel like it mainly got cancelled bc of Disney+. when season 3 came out they were already preparing Marvel shows to move there, and cancelled a lot of other shows at other platforms (Cloak And Dagger, the MCU shows at Netflix). I was really into Runaways when it started coming out and there was definitely a strong online audience for it - whether they were able to watch it on Hulu which was heavily country locked at the time was another question. and I think one thing they should have done was to keep less focus on the parents starting from season two - the kids should have had more screen time.

Mistake number 1 There is 1 thing about Charmed that can never change: Monster of the week. The reason we remember every single OG Charmed plot point is because we can reference it with the demon of the week. That's why season 1 of the reboot was so powerful and entertaining. After season 2 when they serialized the show, it fell apart. I can't even remember what happened after season 1 because it would take 4 episode or 6 episodes for 1 demon storyline. Mistake number 2. The leaned into the whole feminism thing but they couldn't back it up. Season 4 was the most egregious in this regard. The way the women were written was stereotypical. Even the Lost One was poorly written. They even had one of the original Charmed producers come in (Peter Chomsky) and the quality definitely improved, but the writing and performances seemed labored. In season 2 and 3 they wouldn't even shoot Maggie below the waist. You could see the actors didn't want to be there. Mistake number 3 Macy, she was built to be a Charmed One. She was the only actress there who was serious about the role. Fantasy acting is extremely difficult. Mel is more of a drama actor and sge shines there. Maggie just seemed uncomfortable. They should have done everything to keep Macy. Mistake number 4 No consistent nagickal system. OG Charmed was clear that they were doing Celtic magick. From the opening sequence, the books, the spells and the music and the costumes, it was all Celtic inspired. The reboot started off great in season 1 with more indigenous magick and then season 2 took all of that and threw it away. They turned it into Sci-fi. Then they turned it into a completely different dimension. Mistake number 5 The Innocents!!! What happened to saving Innocents?? The whole concept of Charmed is saving humans each week. Season 1 of the Reboot understood this and executed it well. After that the humans basically became furniture. Name 2 innocents they saved in season 4. As an actor and film grad I might sound too critical and it's not to take away from anyone's enjoyment of the show. This is just a comment on why the show failed on a technical level. It's like when Coca-Cola changed the recipe and people got mad. I would have preferred if they watched every single OG Charmed, picked all their favorite episodes, deconstructed them and then remade them to fit today's times and (and maybe using Santeria magick exclusively).

In the original, the actresses actually act like sisters. In the new, it feels forced, idc what race they are, as long as the acting is believable.

Show was mediocre at best, because the show lacked the good writing and imagination of the original. The show started off with too much woke material, as the show progressed, it got a little more entertaining, but nothing ever on par with the og series. Not to mention, the villains were trash, complete Grade A trash. Not surprised this weak show got canceled. TERRANCE OUT

Well like Shane he died because he was being a thug and Gabe that janitor died because he was putting cameras around andys mom's house and he was watching her in the shower and Dorineen died because she said Andy your my new best friend and at the end of the movie he was all sico and killed Wes from the drones and the buddi bears killed 3 other people so there is a reason why she died but it is sad that she died

Season two and three are my faves. I disagree though with Jenny's death being lame given the way Angelus killed her. Season 4 for me is the weakest, the whole initiative/Riley issue left me cold but Season 5 put the show back on track only to be derailed by season six but that's only my opinion.🤔

I'm gonna give CW a new storyline for the best reboot of Charmed and I've chosen 3 best actresses for example: Emma Stone As Spella Willows. (Oldest) Eleanor Tomlinson As Scarlet Willows. (Middle) & Joey King As Sapphire Willows. (Youngest) with Amy Yasbeck As Symbol Willows. (Mother) Jaclyn Smith As Splendora Willows. (Grams) & Sean Bean As Salem Willow. (Warlock Father) and I'm still finding the 4th charmed one for season 4 to play Sage Mikaels because the cast's and character's all British witches with red hair's and fly a broomstick's so I'm still working on finding 4th actress, book of shadows, location and victorian house that look similar to charmed houses and finding out what their powers and their special jewelry and the show would be DARK too so I'm still working on it

The original charmed will always be better the other one is trash
