Can you make a video about how or if eye dominance affects your serve and ground strokes? I’ve seen videos where shots cannot be imitated due to eye dominance. Is this true?

I had a buddy at 5-2, made it so he came back and won the set 7-5. Next set I did not hold back, won it 6-2 and called it a draw for the day. I got a chance to work on my serves, backhand returns, and overall mechanics in those 5 extra games of the first set. I would say that is effectively nerfing myself without completely losing out

I usually practice difficult shots (like stop shots etc.) when playing weaker opponents. I furthermore practice my control level. Like placing balls trying to be really accurate instead of fast. By this I prepare for fast shots against stronger opponents.

Love the channel content. And i’m a big fan of Sean’s strategy insights. In particular, I have a decent serve but I no longer go for aces - instead I serve to the body. Maybe pressure the forehand. Less likely to miss, more likely to get a short ball back. Bingo. But generally thinking- I’m pretty doubtful about ‘trickle down’ strategy for recreational players. His data are taken from studying Pro Players! His 25 golden rules etc, is based on a data set of 30 or so Tsitsipas games from 2021 I think? You start your vid saying how most rec players - let’s say 3.0-4.0 - rarely hold serve and it’s a matter of swapping breaks. Fair - get better at holding serve. Makes sense. But the strategies for doing that are based on how a typical pro player returns a given serve or serve +1. Most rec players aren’t going to give you the inside out forehand +1 your hoping for - they’re going be dinking your serve up into the sky! I’d like to see Sean do a series on how to beat ‘pushers and junk ballers’ and base it on data gathered from club players. My two cents - keep kicking to the BH. keep the great vids coming! Peace ✌️

I think it goes without saying that this is more common on the men's side. Women hold on average like 60% of the time where men hold on average like 80% of the time I believe. Great stuff man!

Just a question about Strategy #2. I have a one handed backhand and I’m one of the few players that would rather go around my forehand to hit a back hand on the forehand side, so what should I do in the case of Strategy #2. Basically, my forehand is my weaker shot.

Please consider the higher potential of mechanical benefits (bigger wingspan, freedom to direct, power, rotation) that a forehead will give you, once worked on. The best course of action might be to consciously improve the serve+1 forehand. It's already great that your backhand is apparently good enough already. Dangerous from both wings. Nice

The 4th shot thing is just bad math, and it honestly frustrates me. Your chance to win from 4 shots on is 50/50, not zero, so saying "you never want the rally to go 4 shots" is simply, factually, wrong. To be specific, you always want the rally to go 4 shots if, in order to shorten it, you'd have to lose more than half the points. You most definitely should NOT be hitting shots that are worse than 50/50 in order to try to end the point quickly. Often, especially in defensive situations, you don't have any shots that give you a

If you're a pro or high level rec player, you generally do want to finish the point within 4 shots on your serve. You need a better than 50:50 chance of winning the point if you want to hold serve. Conversely, as a returner, you generally want the rally to go longer than 4 shots to get yourself into a neutral position. This of course only works if you have a strong serve that can hurt your opponent causing them to give you a weak return. At lower levels of rec tennis, this may not work so well as not too many of these players have a consistently strong serve.

actually, none of these work. the best strategy is to be a junk-baller. moon, underhand serves, bad line calls, foot faults, screw balls etc. as any player in KOTAM league malaysia will be able to attest to. 🤣🤣🤣
