Your classroom is so cool! High school kids seem to be mature enough to handle flexible seating. Middle school students are not mature enough to handle it.

I know as a junior in high school I work best towards the front of the room. My teachers do not assign seats for my classes, so I usually walk quickly to get a front row spot. I would do best in your classroom behind the couch at the end table but not the middle where I can be distracted by others.

I work as a substitute but I am in school to be a Biology teacher honestly I don’t like the flexible seating.... I love the idea of like one comfy place but I find the rooms that don’t have enough tables for everyone are the worst behaved class.... though I absolutely love your classroom it looks great!

As a high schooler I would hate flexible seating. What do you do with shy or quiet kids who dont know where to sit or have anxiety about it?

I was the shy student. I would have hated flexible seating as well. As a teacher, we follow trends and what seems to work for the students who can't learn for whatever reason, but we forget about the quiet shy kids. Thank you for reminding me.

The way the seating works in my room is pretty fluid - seating areas are assigned and students move assigned seating areas every week so that each and every student gets to experience learning in all of the different areas of the room. At the end of the quarter, each student is going to reflect upon what types of learning environments work best and which aren't ideal. The whole idea here is that my students can start to figure out how they work best and set themselves up for success, especially when they are studying at home...

Hi Marie! I'm loving your videos so far, only discovered you yesterday, but it feels like I've been subscribed forever! Just a quick tip for you, the difference in volume between what you are recording and the intro/outro is very noticeable, would it be possible to turn the intro/outro down, or the volume of the recordings up? Thanks for all your hard work!

Hi Marie! I’m a pre-service teacher and I’m so happy I found your channel. I’ve always been interested in flexible seating, but I have a question. Once you have the students sample each area, do you still move them around throughout the year? Will you allow a specific student who has asked to stay in an area stay in that area?

Where do you put your projector and document camera? I would have to have it in the middle and am thinking about getting a futon to place in front of it similar to your set up, but I'm worried about their heads blocking my display. Any suggestions?

Do you have any advice for a high school science class and flexible seating. I really want to try it, but I am really nervous about it
