We just learned yesterday that schools, lots of businesses and even Disney World itself will the closed until NEXT month. Honestly, I don’t feel overly worried and I hope you don’t either BUT at the same time I feel like it’s important to be as prepared as you can. So I’m hoping by sharing what I picked up you might get some ideas on things you might want to go pick up as well. And you guys if you’d like on our website you can find a 2 week meal plan print out, a blank grocery list you can use as well as my list of 25 items that I recommend you have in your emergency supplies.

My siblings and I have been going around our small neighborhood and making sure the elderly people have everything they need. We fo out and get everything they have on their lists. It's pretty sad they way people are panicking..alot of us are still able to go out and grab things but piling up and other families going without is wrong and sad.

First off you are a blessing to many but I do not feel that you should ridicule those people that do plan for the future and have spend a good part of the past years preparing for something just like this, which is what all people should be doing even to a small extent. You never know what could happen. People saying they can’t afford need to rethink their priorities because just a few dollars each haul to over stock on some items and keep it growing. Lots of low cost healthy food to be had that has a long shelf life and paper products should always be in the house and it doesn’t take much to keep a stash of bottles water, it too is cheap and necessary. If it had not been this it would be something else at some point. Keep prepared to keep you and your family for at least 3 weeks to a month, more if you are able

I'm so sick of seeing people being judgmental about how much someone buys! SHE HAS A FAMILY OF S I X including four children, of course she needs a lot.. The CDC recommends buying enough supplies for atleast a month.. To me, it seems for a family of four she may not even have enough.. People aren't being selfish, this is just what happens when everyone is told to buy enough supplies for a month, there are large families out there that will inevitably need a ton of groceries.

@@azraeltarquin7946 This is a family of six. With the current situation, trying to have a month's supply (or even two) would be reasonable. This does not seem like an unreasonable amount for 6 people considering the prevalence of 3+ week shelter-in-place mandates.

evie_maya_x hi I live in Cincinnati Ohio where Kroger’s is headquartered. The store supply system is not in jeopardy people! We have been assured. People need to just be smarter about how and when they go shopping! Please understand this is a marathon not a race. I once worked in logistics for a grocery chain. Shop in the morning when the store first opens! There are less people and the stores have just been cleaned! The food will get to stores because the only cars on the road are the really big trucks. Kroger’s and other grocery/mart type places want to sell you the food and truckers want to get it to you! The economics of this are easy! You will be able to shop weekly as long as you are safe( WASH YOUR HANDS PROPERLY and sanitize your cart). This could go on for 12 months or more. Let’s pace ourselves American!

My family is supportive, they would help me out next month if I need them. I'm living month to month. But I've got enough food and supplies, and two weeks of psych meds. I'm calling my case manager on Monday, she took two weeks off, and the heck of a timing. I have schizoaffective disorder. No I am not working, but volunteering at a food pantry. I would go to the other (there are 2 buildings) building, but they don't even need me or most of the other volunteers at the new building where the actual food pantry is. At the new building are social workers. I was also in a choir that might be completely canceled the rest of this season. I'm fine for the time being, one day at a time. Thanks for the concern. I’m not very happy at the moment lol but of course I’m getting creative. My picky toddler though is probably suffering the most because he doesn’t have his typical go to’s and it honestly breaks my heart how selfish people are. There’s no toilet paper anywhere I literally had to take a bunch of napkins from Dunkin’ Donuts because we have 2 rolls left. And ummm coffee filters just in case 😭🤣 My college is closed and my sons day care now. Restaurants were all ordered to close a few hours ago. I’m trying not to lose my mind.

I think they just should've put the whole country on shutdown all at once...not bits and pieces at a time. It's ridiculous on how all this was handled. Everybody needs to stay home. I’m someone with a lot of debt, but I had a tiny lil bit in savings. When I saw that things were heating up in Australia, I shopped a lil extra (specials whilst we still had them) over a 3 week period at the start of March before the pandemic was declared and supermarket shelves went empty. Don’t let the people who were not preparing get you down. Even now there are so many charities and governments trying to help their people. By doing this lil extra work earlier, when I shop now it’s to replace things from my ‘working’ pantry I set up. Hopefully we will all learn to keep one for the next unforeseen crisis.

First, I want to say to all of you that are trying to bash people for stocking up. Yes some people may have gone overboard for their family size, (i.e. a family of 2 buying for like a family of 10) HOWEVER you do realize in you should strive to eventually have a 30-90day (it's actually recommended to have a 90 day, but minimum of 30day) supply of back up food. For emergency situations. So a lot of people actually already have a 90day stock pile some people don't and now in this panic they are getting their stock pile. So how about instead of bashing you look into what you should be doing to prep for the next emergency situation you may be facing in the future & try to prep for that. Secondly, for those living paycheck to paycheck, yes it is very hard to buy in bulk like this. But it isn't 100% impossible. When something is on a reduce sale for the price of one item you can get two. So in those moments when they happen you can slowly build that back up food supply. Yes it will take SIGNIFICANTLY longer, but it's still possible. Thirdly, if you don't like what you're watching how about ya exit the video and go away 👌

One way we are prepared is just knowing that meals don't need to be 3 or 4 courses. There's nothing wrong with having meals with variety at all, but it's not required. I like to give my kids a few different things for each meal, but doing so does consume more resources. So instead of a fresh produce smoothie, peanut butter toast, and cottage cheese- they will be perfectly fine with oat meal(maybe a large spoonful of yogurt mixed into it)+ 1 apple sliced into tiny pieces split between the 3 of them. They are 4 and under. This situation has made me so much more waste aware. Nothing is going to waste. High fiber, high protein, intentional produce in portions I KNOW they will consume. More if they ask for it. Also, I figured out that sometimes they ask for a snack because they are bored. So a little more planning activities that are screen-less has helped with boredom eating/asking. Last thing- I promise. I've been trying to get coconut water, cucumbers, and things thday naturally hydrate and way less of salty snacks/ foods and additional salt sources including last minute seasoning. That has helped them stay hydrated and not guzzle water because of too much additional salt. I have learned some good practices f through this that I wish I had been doing already. I'm guilty of food and resource waste and I'm determined to end that in my home. It shouldn't have taken a virus to teach me that, but I can make better choices from here on out. We really are spoiled here in the states. That's not a jab at anyone, it's just the truth. Love y'all!

I keep having panic attacks thinking about it. I know some people might say im over reacting but im just scared and i just want everyone to be oki! I would do anything just to have this all get better. People shouldnt have to worry about viruses and sickness i just wish everything could be perfect. There seems to be mixed opinions in the comments about the amount of food to take. To be honest I believe that it is right to stock up on lots of food, not because supermarkets will run out, but because it will become harder and harder (for places that haven’t already passed this stage) to get out and get the supplies you need, but I do agree that you shouldn’t just take ANYTHING you see in a panic (for instance you shouldn't drag your arm along a whole aisle pushing everything you see into your trolley), but this is not what this family did. They took the essentials they need and planned it out, working things out about the food like the emergancy food storage list.

Maybe start talking to the grocery store people to display the stocks they have.

Where I live stores are rationing certain grocery items to one item per customer ie...TP only one per customer, rice one per customer, So even if l wanted to do a big shop l am restricted. Our two major food stores have recently introduced early opening 7 am - 8 am for over 65 years of age to shop before the store opens at 8 am for all customers, so that the elderly don’t have to compete with younger people who can become aggressive over the last toilet roll packet. This is working well and is much more pleasant for oldies to shop without the hustle and bustle. You have to show a pension or seniors card to be allowed in. Things will change in these times, somethings for the better, somethings not but we must think a bit differently and change with it.

My health circumstances means that if our number of infected people increases I will not be going out at all. I only have 1 metre of my intestine left so I'm force feeding myself after getting major clots when I was being feed through large veins. It's hard to keep weight on so it's important that I have easy to digest high calorie food. In short I'm terminally ill and I have a few autoimmune diseases so I'm at high risk. Before you go posting angry and mean comments think of these things... 1. All of these items were purchased BEFORE and panic buying set in. (AND it never REALLY got very bad in our area currently the stores are almost back to normal) 2. This is a NORMAL amount of food for a family our size, you can watch over 100 past grocery videos and see for yourself! (kzfaq.info/sun/PLa-WGRiiFAOw3FAgAEng1OmNRPXFI_6Js) 3. My first responsibility is to MY OWN family. 4. The time to prepare is before the crisis. Planning and saving should be a normal part of everyone's routine.

Not sure what we will do for income as I am a single parent and also don't have space to stock up on too much food. Prayers are my only hope.

It’s ok to buy grocery a bit more, but if you already have water why you bought more. There’s people that really needs and buying in excess is not helping to anything. Sorry if my English is not the best

In Washington, schools are closed. College is online. Jobs are laid off. All restaurants are closed. Grocery stores aisles are empty. Gatherings of 250 is prohibited, now it’s down to 50. It is completely crazy here, get prepared for sure!

I don't care if people hoard or buy all the product. That is why it is important to prep and not wait.

I am in Australia but know people in the Uk and some family in italy. Even in Italy being in lock down they are allowed to go out to the shops but its one person per household and have to be 1.5 meters away from each other at all time, I won't stock up because their is no point to. I have food for the week and left heaps that i could of brought for other people. Those elderly are often the ones who are going to miss out because they don't get to the shops much and don't have the money to spend. I don't think panic buying is a good thing. I would rather spend my money on things may family are going to eat.
