An addition to number 10 (radio location). I have mine mounted so I don't have to remove it from its mount to talk. It keeps you from fumbling around, especially when replacing the mic. I also use a product called 'magnetic mic'. The mic or the hand held is kept in place by a strong magnet. It makes it really easy to put back into place compared with the normal 'clips'. You don't have to take your eyes off the road when replacing the mic.

#7, I also keep the windows closed on muddy terrain. So when I get home I dont neet to clean the back seats neither the roof inside the truck! ;)

Also a handy tip, when driving through water that is around door height. all windows up turn on your fan and use recirculating air. this will suck the door seals in creating a vacuum seal and stop water from seeping in.

I know it's a year old but just watched and this is very good. As fa as seat belt laws in the USA most states it is mandatory, but many like here in Florida the police can't pull you over for not wearing a seat belt they can only stop you for something else then fine you for no belt. I did break a thumb once when I had a Toyota FJ40 I will never hold the wheel wrong again

Good tips Ronny. I also change the angle of the seat back, climbing or terrain which rocks the vehicle a lot I put the seat back in a more upright position, helps lock you in place better esp. With the seat belt.

Great tips! I keep a poncho liner(light packable quilted blanket) stuffed under my drivers seat to protect from any water bottles/objects coming forward while driving. I pull it out to cover precious cargo for privacy, so it has a use besides emergencies. I hurt my wrist/thumb today, I think you explained why. I was uphilling and my taco wheel bucked hard on me. I think my thumb got torqued! Thanks for that pointer! Tons of great advice and great work from you and your crew. Two thumbs up.

You're right about me not thinking about the dimmer. It would never offer to me while talking about it, although I did dim my dash lights would of the way the one time I've been off road at night. Didn't have to think about all that much: just figured it would help, and it did.

Hi Ron, Greetings from Maryland, the land of pleasant living. I just discovered your videos today and really enjoyed them. I dont know if you had mentioned any suggestions that I plan to suggest. Where I live the terrain has a variety of changes to clay steep hills and in Western, some rock climbing. In the mid 80's, I was driving a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer K-5 with a 4 inch lift. Which was a little too much for the front at the time. So there was always a spare front drive shaft as the angle on the front was to sharp and would tear up u-joints. Out in the mud, it is earlier to just change the driveshaft than u-joints. There would always be a hi-lift jack to lift the truck up and then push the truck sideways over the the rock or whatever your problem may be. Also tire spoons can always be nice as well as an 8 foot pry bar. Sorry if I took to much time. Please let me know you you need any hard to find parts. Regards Scott

Hey There from America Ronny! My friends and I all subscribe to your channel and love your videos!! There’s 3 things we would like. 1st - A list of everything on your vehicle. Not gear but equipment. All the mods like lights, roll bar, snorkel, tires, suspension, in the engine bay, antennas etc. 2nd - a list of all the gear you keep in your vehicle. Stuff like two-way radios, communication equipment, tools, recovery gear, seat covers, stove, refrigerator or ice box, shovels, everything. And last but not least 3rd - You here in America!!! Something like getting together with me and my friends for some off-road adventures!! Or maybe we, or just me, come over there. It’d be a blast either way! That’s it lol Love the videos! Happy trails mate

I'm really envious of you chaps in Oz, having all that space to explore. We have people called ramblers in the UK who have managed to shut down about 75% of the country side to vehicles. Off roading in the UK consists of pay and play sites and the occasional green lane. Perhaps I need a long Holiday over there. Keep up the great work

Great Great video! Have wanted to put together something similar but you covered things very well! Will just link people to you. Pretty sure most states require seat belts here in the states and agree on or off road a seat belt can help keep you safe before a accident by keeping you firmly in place so you can control the vehicle. Only thing you skipped (or maybe lucky enough not to know)is having things well secured. Having rolled a few jeeps just having pocket change thrown in your face hurts! Keep up the great video as I find them fun and spot on. Also Ronny I'm leaving on a 6,500 km overland trip from Southern California to Alaska today. I invite you to follow along, Brad

What’s the name of that seat organiser you have on the passenger seat? I have to say that the one complaint my friends and I have for just about everyone’s 4x4 videos is not providing the product name of stuff they show. Like the seat organiser in this video. It looks great but what’s it called and/or where can I get it? See what I mean? All in all though we love your videos the most!! Please keep them coming! Happy trails mate

For the bumpy rocks I just use the choke dial on the Hilux, holds 1.5k revs easy without needing to use your feet which can slip. Especially when they're wet pushing on the side won't help much i suggest rigging up throttle control if you do this sort of 4x4 alot. You'll thank me for it lol.

Seat belt use depends on where I'm going and how familiar I am with the tracks. If I'm driving around the beaches somewhere I've been 1000 times I won't use a seat belt, especially if I'm just out of the water. If I'm dune driving it's always on, if I have to go into low range it goes on, or if I'm on the road of course.

A mate showed me a trick with the seat belt. Put a drink bottle inbetween you and the seat buckle so if incase you roll over or any other reason you have all your weight on the belt you can open the lid and it will loosen it enough most of the time to undo and with being stuck on a hill or angle and you need to talk your belt off you can put a paper clip on the belt so it wont retract so it can be put back on easily when the going gets tough
