Sandy is a top bloke. I’ve followed his channel for the last year or so. Such simple, uncomplicated guy. Unlike a lot of ‘tube posers. Forza, Sandy 👊.

What a LEGEND, fascinating and absorbing the best 52mins + 6secs of conversation on KZfaq. Great format, YOU must do more of this Paul as many other subscribers have mentioned Pat Dickinson, Dean Read, Solitary Rambler, and not forgetting Barnsley's finest Andy Beavers.

Paul what an amazing podcast / interview with the Wilshire Man. No BS, just two guys being very truthful with some heart-moving moments from Sandy especially about his schooling and overcoming his brain tumor. Despite some huge obstacles in his life, he has come a long way and achieved a lot more. What a great back-story, respect to both of you👍

Absolutely love this one, I've watched Sandy's videos for years and love some of the little 'pearls of wisdom' that he comes out with and I like his approach to life and his ability to deal with the challenges thrown at him. This was great to learn a little bit more. I think this is shaping up to be a great series Paul. nice work. xx

Congratulations Paul for a great podcast, your guest Sandy is an inspiration. Such a genuine and hugely talented individual whose love of the country just shines through on all his videos. The knowledge he imparts about the history of the places he visits is fascinating. I’m really lucky to own one of his knives, really functional but also a work of art, a really prized possession. Great to see the two of you enjoying each other’s company.

I'm lucky enough to have my own small piece of woodland and have camped with Sandy a couple of times. Always a pleasure as the conversation flows easily and I always learn something new. Definitely a latter-day Jack Hargreaves, although I'm not sure JH would have strapped a motor to his back and headed for the skies. 😁

Brilliant. Sandy, one thing I learned raising kids and grandkids, if you are worried about how their parents may raise them, keep doing your bit. It may take a while but sooner or later the kids will realize you are the mentor they should follow.

Absolutely brilliant Podcast Paul. I have been waiting for it since watching the trip video. Great to hear Sandy’s background. He is an amazing guy. It appears we have a lot more in common than just hiking and camping, though it sounds like his morse is far more advanced than mine. To be fair I haven’t used my Ham Radio gear for a few years now since I took up flying. My wife also had an Acoustic Neuroma which completely killed her hearing and balance on her left side - which is why we had to give up serious hillwalking. All the best 😊

I've read voraciously at times, though in recent years, I have strayed more toward the quick KZfaq sources of information such as Paul mentioned. Like Sandy, I also have experienced the disappointing film portrayals of books that had totally engrossed me when I read them. That said, I wanted to mention a counter example even though I understand that not everyone will agree. I found Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" much more compelling, and entertaining, than its inspiration, the Phillip K. Dick novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"
