The Warp can mutate the flesh, once the mind has let it in atleast. That or an encounter with a foe or pathogen which is sourced from the warp and manages to cause enough corruption in one way or another, be it a wound, psychic attack, psychological or physical in manner or simply being around them for long enough as Mercs. Once the purity of the body is taken the corruption can take root, since the ork gods, Gork and Mork, are naturally Brutally Kunnin and Kunningly Brutal war loving beings, few orks would be swayed to the side of Chaos in the greater scheme of things of their own accord.

Orkz 100% have souls. They're a fungus with a lot of unique rules and biology to them, but they absolutely still have souls. Their advantage against necrons is their psychic powers and resistances and sheer fighting cohesion along with a lack of proper intelligence/logic to plot and think around.

Fearless balls of feral fungal aggression, it's like you bio engineered fungus to attack people, but gave it a baseline functioning skeleton/genemap to work on which eventually create orks like prime orks etc etc. The orks are not my favourite race as far as universe expansion goes, but they're definitely one of the most interesting.

Their immune in the sense that attempts at direct corruption requires stepping on the toes of Gork and Mork which is something even the Chaos gods don't want to do.

An individual chaos ork is dangerous. But as a whole chaos orks are no real threat because they simply are way too rare. Very little orks ever fall out with gork and mork.

@@KingQwertzlbrmpf its not that. orks are already chaotic by nature its they dont have enough discipiline as it is. add chaos to them and they just kill each other. even if an entire tribe is corrupted it won't survive for long because anything that resembles order and direction is destroyed. with chaos space marines it's sustainable because they were thought all their life discipline and order, in addition, to having a clear goal other than fighting

@@roiking2740 What you wrote is part of the problem but doesn't describe it as a whole. First of all Chaos Orks truly are very rare just because chaos has very little to offer for orks. Basically one could say that the lure the chaos gods use to draw in followers is promising them stuff they want. But what does an ork really want? He wants a good fight. That's pretty much it. Every other goal an ork might have is a secondary or even lower priority goal, most often something to faciliate the primary goal of having a good fight like for example a bigger gun. And all of the stuff the orks really want is already promised to them by gork and mork. The only orks that could possibly fall to chaos are orks that get disappointed of gork and mork like for example a disposed off, but not dead Waaghboss, which already is extremly rare. An other possibility might be a freeboota that gets more greedy for teeth than fighting which, again, is extremly rare. One should also consider that gork and mork are at least as powerful if not more powerful than the four primary chaos gods. Fortunatly for those chaos gods gork and mork are too busy beating the shit out of each other to turn their attention to some other opponent. The only reason why they don't appear more frequently in 40k Lore or models is that they are an existance that is almost exclusivly worshipped by the Orks and that they grant their blessings almost exclusivly to orks. Why do i say "almost exclusivly"? Well, there are, for example, hints in the Lore of the Armageddon Ork Hunters that seem to indicate that the armageddon Ork Hunters are able to use Ork weapons and machines. And that is something that should only be possible for someone that has Waagh energy. And humans don't typically have Waagh energy which seems to indicate that the armageddon ork hunters are in some way blessed by gork and mork. As for an entire tribe getting corrupted, the only scenario that i can come up with in which something like this might happen would be if the tribe settles down for a long time in an area that is heavily, and i mean heavily, corrupted by chaos. Something on the level of a demon world. An area where anybody entering hears a constant stream of dark voices whispering forbidden knowledge into their ears, an area where the walls are constantly bleeding, an area where demons occasionally spawn without anyone calling them, an area where the direction of gravity sometimes changes without prior notice. THAT level of corruption. And sure, an orktribe probably wouldn't mind such trivial matters. The slight buzzing in their ears is mildly annoying, they probably barely notice the bleeding walls and if they do they don't care, the demons are an added bonus and they might try their hand on getting more of these lovely creatures to appear, and the occasional shift in gravity serves well in keeping the boys alert. In such circumstances an entire tribe might get corrupted and yes, if that happens the tribe is likely to go extinct from excessive infighting.

It's from the Rogue Trader book introducing playable xeno races like kroot and orks. They state that orks can't be reached by the chaos gods because they already have that they crave most. Thus, the corruption stat is just useless for them. Insanity still affects them normally.

FYI in old WH40k lore there was a Freebooter option called Khorne's Stormboyz. The models looked a lot like the plastic Hoff models from 2nd Edition. The laptop had D4+1 chaos rewards generated from the Realm of Chaos tables, slightly enhanced basic profile (+1 to WS,BS and CL or cool now amalgamated into Id for the Stormboyz the Kaptin was ws5 Bs 4 S4 T5 w2 I4 A1 Ld 8 Int7 cl8 WP7. There were also entries for Wierdboy Warpheadz, Ork mutants and Ork Chaos Warbands. Much more fun.

Well, sometimes. That's the rule with chaos. A lot of the time, even Chaos Space Marines won't fight alongside Chaos Space Marines. Chaos is deeply divided, and gathering a war host is a notoriously difficult task, as Abbadon has found out. Chaos armies tend to consist of a supreme horde of mentally unstable, mutated insane psychopathic individuals with dreams of grandiose and power, including demons that respect the aspects of the worst of mortal dreams. Technically, anything touched by chaos, including even that not touched; might fight alongside the Chaos Space Marines. However, actually getting them to fight alongside the Chaos war host is an entirely different matter, and Chaos Marines tend to employ a "Join us or die" policy.

They exist in the warp but are indeed mostly seperate from the other gods. Orkz along with tyrannids kind of have their warp presence the other chaos gods can't really mess with. Gork and mork also seem to just be way stronger and bigger than the individual gods on their own. Seems like they beat out even khorne.

I'm always hearing contradictory information when it comes to 40k. I'm guessing they are just harder to corrupt because they are so stupid.

Imagine you are a powerful corrupt politician locked up in a room with a grizzly bear. Sure you may be important, rich, dangerous and whatever, but the grizzly just wants to fuck, eat, and sleep, in that order, and your money and influence can't do shit inside that room. The same happens with the orks, the chaos doesn't offer them anything they would like. Not even Khorne. The blood god is all about revenge, honor, and general discomfort at life. Gork and Mork provide the same benefits, without the drawbacks, orks can stab in the back at will, and be super happy with about it.

No. Chaos orks are extremly rare, since not only are orcs very resistant to the taint of chaos, but even if one get's tainted he is most likely immedietly exterminated by his fellow orks for the grave sin of "not being green enough". And the few chaos orks out there are too less consolidated or united to constitute a faction. However, you may be able to field some chaos orks with other chaos warbands, mainly from Nurgle. You might also be able to field a red ork with a Khorne warband, but for the sake of roleplay he should be just as likely to attack your own troops than the enemies.
