I think I remember that they created those against Dangerous beeings in the warp - that doesnt have to be the Chaos gods. Am not certain tho

The novel Avenging Sons has Guilliman, backed by knowledge from Cawn and Yvraine, theorising that the Necrons/Old Ones knew of a particular "weakness" throughout the veil in reality, between the Warp and the Materium. He thinks that some places in the Galaxy are easier to break through because the pressure of stars and celestial objects push through the veil (for exemple, the Aeldari Empire was a heavy cluster of stars, making it easier for the Eye of Terror to spawn there after the Fall). Assuming this is true, it's theorised the Necrons build various Pylons network where the Veil was weakest (including around the Aeldari Empire), should the worst come to pass. During the Long War, Abbadon destroyed most of the network to prepare for the Great Rift.

@TheVenger10 Not really, he was just the most durable and strongest Necron, which would probably be around Primarch level as Imotekh who is a Phaeron is Chapter Master Level of strong, Now maybe if Szerakh hadn't severed the command protocols he would be Emperor Level

@@royblasius8289 short lifed due to their -homeplanet- and fragile bodys - doesnt mean their possible lifespan is short :-)

The Necrons. Literally they are the most advanced Empire in the setting, the Federation of Man was pretty advanced compared to its current form the Imperium but even during the Federation’s time the Eldar were more advanced than them too.

No. One of the things the c’tan couldn’t handle were psykers which is why the old ones included so many psyker races in their armies. Also why the necrons said nope and went to bed for millions of years when the enslaver plague broke out. They just had no way of dealing with chaos until much later when they developed the cadia pylons and blanks

Yip the unsharded C'tan are/were the masters of the material realm. Bending space/time/matter to their whim and will. But could be hurt and destroyed via contact with warp space. So it's all about home field advantage. One thing that the old ones created races did was steal C'tan / necron tech and hide it in the warp during the long sleep. Some of the stuff in fluff could destroy solar systems or change the fundamental consistencies of the universe.

The Warp is dangerous to the C'Tan, but the chaos gods cannot manifest in the material world. No warp born entity can survive in the material world for long. It's a fight that can't ever take place. The C'Tan could stand by while the tyranids eat the biological life in the galaxy, wipe out the nids, and without biological life feeding the warp....the chaos gods die.

In my opinion Necron astartes would be too op. The fighting skills of astartes plus the technology of necrons are purely insane. They would be immortals in combat.

He can manipulate time his necrodermis body can regenerate his essence can go back into his tomb world if his first body is defeated and he posesses weapons that defy physics. If hes not a beast on the tabletop ill be disappointed

Necrons can be really powerful in terms individual powers, the power levels can surpass even Primarchs. Ahmontekh, the Phaeron of the Necron Suhbekhar Dynasty, was said to be able to shatter a planet in a single strike with his Warscythe, and struck a blow that slew a god. Considering that the Silent King is like the Necron’s equivalent of the Emperor of Mankind, he’s gotta be ridiculously powerful.

Yip he was given the first factory model that came with all the bells and whistles combined with the necrons best tech. Whilst due to finite resources the process was stepped down for each tier below. So leaders got the best limited edition supercar package, elite soldiers got the sports car package, the rank and file got the utilitarian package, whilst the screaming masses of cron populace got the jalopy package.

@@jeambeam3173 The Silent King came back and started waking the necrons. So back during the heresy there were reports of necrons but not nearly as many as now. The Silent King was back then, but then left again? There hasn't been a definite answer to the time period between 30k and 40k. But he must have left because the dynasties are back fighting amongst themselves and the Silent King's supporters have been heralding his return. Now it's happening, because of the Psychic Awakening.
