Do you have a video on just building the Doorway Dolly? Also what about adding Tripod grooves to handle a large camera...
@hanzdidit
@hanzdidit 3 жыл бұрын
The nice thing about building a dolly like this as you can make the plywood as wide or narrow as you would like. My first one was about 3 feet wide this one is about 22 inches wide. As far as grooves go for your tripod you could drill some large holes that the tripod legs could sit in if you were concerned the tripod slipping off. Like I say this is not exactly the right way this is just the way I did it and it seems to work really well. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.

Love the video! What size fence posts are you using diameter-wise? 1 1/4, 1 3/8?

Hey Jameson, The post I am using in this video are the 2" by 10' long ones that I got at home depot. You can use almost any pipe you just need to make sure you wheels sit on it so they wont slip off of hit the ground. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel!

What are the Secret Sauce pieces? Looks like delrin, but where did you get them?
@hanzdidit
@hanzdidit 3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is delrin, i have a local machine shop close to my shop and I had them make them for me. It was a bit expensive but I just built it in to the production cost. and now I can use them for other projects. Thanks for watching!

If you don't mind my asking, how are the delrin rods/dowels? Also, to they friction fit into your rails? This got my mind racing, I went from a slider to "screw it, I'm making a backyard rollercoaster" in about 1/4 second, LOL
@hanzdidit
@hanzdidit 3 жыл бұрын
YES this is a great idea! the delrin rod will hold they have been great and still working. Yes we made them so the tolerances were very tight and it is a compression fit. You could add screws to the bottom of the rail to keep them in place but for the projects I do (not roleercosters :) This method works great. If you actually build this roller coaster please invite me over I promise I will watch you ride it, lol. Seriously though thank you for watching my channel.

@@hanzdidit thanks for replying! I had meant to ask how long the delrin inserts were???
@hanzdidit
@hanzdidit 3 жыл бұрын
@@ottomatic28 they are only about 6 inches each. They could be longer but they seem to work great.

This results are jiggery. Maybe I don't use the right word or don't spell it right, but you got me. Camera Dolly made to make smooth records and you are on your home-made dolly, which doesn't made cinematic results. So on the end, you just didn't reached out to your goal. If I take a right walking technic and turn on Hypersmooth on SC2 Gimbal, I get better results than this. So I just don't see the point.

you can get better results with a drone.......

When we tested the project and use the drone he could see the water moving from the air of the props. To get as close as we wanted to on the subject this seems to be the best way. Thank you so much for watching and have a great day.
