Right at the beginning of the hunt I thought you were missing, THEN the birds were falling at your feet! I finnaly realized I had a couple spots on my desktop screen. "stop/wipe/rewind vid", and even THEN, there was so many birds I couldn't keep up! The dove recipe I sent on the last vid called for 4 birds per person, (If ya' had a good day) THIS turned into a dove Thanksgiving! So fun...

In the late 80's after I retired from the Sheriff's Office we used to go to E astern Oregon and hunt Valley Quail at a friends feed lot. It was kick. We also shot Ringneck Pheasants. It was too much fun. We'd take some Spring Chinook Salmon and have a big feast at a local restaurant for the folks who let us hunt their property. Great memories now I'm the only one left that's sad.

I'm 54 years old and went to that same resort when I was in my teens. My dad was good friends with the manager at the time. We were always tasked with running more PVC pipe down to the lake because the water was constantly receding due to a drought. Used to catch bass with coke bottles and string. Shot white wing doves until our shoulders were blue and also duck hunted at the other location. Lots of great memories at that place. Thanks for sharing and hope you had a great time.

I'll always think of my grandfather when I think of dove hunting. Was what he trained me with first. Waking up early every weekend. Some Conway Twitty on the radio. A hunybun and sausage dog for breakfast. Being a bird dog for a while then getting my first 20g. I'm older now and he's passed, but I thought of him today before this video because I have like 3 limit worth of doves in my yard and he always fed them too. I also remember the best part of being young and dove hunting was shooting like 2 boxes of shells and still wanting to keep going

Dove hunting always surprises me. When you shoot one you thing it is far, then it falls and it isn't very far at all. I did quite a bit of dove hunting in south Texas and it is fun. I never hunted around a feed lot, but it would be similar in south Texas if you hunted doves around one.

Those Collared Doves are bigger and I think they taste better. PLUS - they don't usually count toward your limit in most states.
