We had a cat that liked to climb on our gaming table. We called him the warp storm :) if he moved things around, you play from where it lands. If he knocked something off the table, they were “lost in the warp” and you had 2 turns to roll them back and redeploy them, if you didn’t get the roll, then the unit was considered dead

I approach making my own armies the same way. Theres a story, a reason to be and a history. A why, a how, who, what, where, when. It all comes together and makes the dice rolls hit that much deeper.

Homebrew factions are such a big and interesting part of the 40k verse . I really wish you could make more episodes involving this world , maybe even a short series , with shorter format . I myself write as a hobby , building my own universe , and it's always nice to see other people creativity come to life.

If you really care about something, any amount of struggle to make even an inch of progress is always worth it.

I always played 40k with a 3rd player who was effectively the DM who controlled the battlefield itself and would be the referee for all home brew rules and ideas

@@anthraxcrab3238 yep 100% and should still be the case. The "DM" is the 3rd party that handles things like exploding barrels, collapsing ruins... swamps, poisonous gas etc. And also be the person to rule on line of sight etc

Finally had a chance to listen to this without distraction or interruption. All I can say is: wonderful! Normally, one thinks of “homebrew” lore as a quick outline to justify certain aesthetic and/or tactical choices a player makes when building a tabletop force that lives outside of established canon. This is not that. Such excellent worldbuilding and storytelling transcends this moniker, raising the writing to the level of art, which is totally fair considering the beauty and artistry displayed in the minis themselves: just as steel sharpens steel, deep creative vision in one area inspires and elevates all other connected fields to similar heights of excellence. Bravo! I’m fully invested in this place and the characters you’ve developed now. Can’t wait for subsequent entries. Thank you for continuing to create the very best WH40K content for your audience to get lost within.

I've been waiting for an expansion on the Luetin series ever since you did that first video which was quite exceptional for original content, I remember listening to it while working, I work contracting and I played it twice and was totally distracted because it was great. Was like 2 hours I wasn't very productive and I remember the specific house I was working in and what I was doing because it was so memorable. I'm all for more of these videos!

I started with the paint scheme for my custom Necrons. White chest, upper arms, and upper legs. That pale ice blue that is used for space wolves on the faces, lower arms, and lower legs. With the internals being silver. Gauss and other energy-based weapons are the classic green. Mud bases, with sprinklings of snow. That helped me lots in visioning what the planet was like, and why they would be those colors. The Pharon, Di’tai, has gone semi-insane, and has become obsessed with studying the C’Tan, and attempts to unlock their powers for him, and his Dynasty. His sister Sa’ara, is the only thing keeping him grounded, using her as counsel, as he wages war. She is his Nemessor, the tip of the spear that fronts most, if not all assaults. … and just for fun, I made them, in the time of flesh, related if distantly to Nemmesor Vandrekh. Just because I like the idea of “Crazy Uncle Vandrekh.” But anyways I love the idea that in Warhammer, nothing is solidly canon. My dynasty, thanks to how laissez-faire GW is with Canon, is canon to me!

Back in the Mid->Late 1980's, My Friends and I were able to do something similar in the world of 'Battletech'. Using the 'Mechwarrior' RPG-System, we actually roleplayed the events of our Mech's Pilots, their start from a single Lance of 4 Mechs & a Single Leopard-Class Dropship, to a Battalion of 36 Mechs with an Overlord Dropship and supporting Aerotech Fighters. Our Final, Climactic end to the RPG Campaign that lasted for nearly 5 years was a massive 72-Mech Engagement. The first Movement phase alone took 2hrs, and it took us literal days to finish. We ended up victorious, though at a considerable cost. But such is the way of War.

Now this is content I love more than the lore the company itself makes. We're talking about a vast setting designed right in the bones to be more of a setting than an ongoing story, where players create their own custom armies within that setting and come up with their own stories if they feel the need to, and where the lore we do get is intentionally vague and unreliable. So, I adore what you've done with your own knight house and hope to see more.

Mr friends and I had a super long Necromunda campaign, literally a few years and we ran one homebrew rule. The Dark Pool. A 3 inch round template made from a jar lid filled with dark green paint and PVA glue. D4 to pick table edge. Home made spinner to pick inches along that edge with coin flip for from left or right. 2D6 inches in from the edge. A ganger can chooser to dive in once in base contact. They're gone for 2 turns, roll a D6: 1 - There's a few bubbles then nothing. The model and all gear is gone forever. 2 - They emerge covered in giant leeches. The model can't do anything for the following turn. On a further D6 roll of 1 they take a wound. 3 - The didn't find anything but are unharmed. 4 - They find a lost bag of ammunition. The model is immune to ammo rolls for the rest of the battle. 5 - The ganger emerges hauling a sack of credits. Give the model a loot counter, this is worth 2D6x5 credits in post battle sequence. 6 - The ganger has found a long lost piece of tech! Add a loot counter, this is worth one free roll on the rare trade table in post battle. Any loot can be taken from a killed model by friendly or enemy models as normal.
