Re- Custodes story, "Lighten up!" Is an understatement. I genuinely don't know how some people are able to function in the world if THAT bothers you to that extent.

Hey MT here. I forgot you prolly don’t know the tau rule. Basically half your army is observers and the other half is guided. Which means for a +1 to hit you would give up half your shooting.

This is similar to my story, except I had been painting miniatures for years, and drifted away from the hobby side. I was always involved in the lore, and I was painting random miniatures that I just thought were cool, so I always had one foot in the hobby, but it wasn't until my Kids expressed interest that I got back involved, but now I have a giant pile of shame. I currently have about 5k of a 10k worth of Salamanders, 2 to 3k of both Sisters of Battle and Orks.... maybe 1k worth of Eldar, necromumda, 3 imperial Knights, 3 dreadnauts, necrons..... who don't I have? I have Astra Militarum, Admech..... I think I have something from every faction except for Necrons.... oh. Leagues of Votan. I have something from every other faction, and now my daughter is getting into Sigmar. She is building a Seraphon army with about 30 skinks on the table. I wonder if I can proxy those as tyrranids? Hahah. They kind of have that "swarm" look.

the whole "muscle mommy" thing makes me angry, because this guy acts like his opinion is the only valid one. I am a Man. I like attractive women. some of us don't want female custodes, and our opinions are as valid as those who think that it is no big deal. How about we both respect each other? I love the idea of scantily clad, giant booby muscle mommys, and I think the ugly women faces shoehorned onto existing models is cringe. you think my preference is cringe. we are both cringe to each other, so why belittle each other? I respect that most of these guys are ok with women in men's spaces, but I am against it, and most men who have traditional relationships and have been in the hobby are against it. I will not pretend I don't like it, and I will not apologize for being against it. I will do my best to respect the virtue signaling of these white knights, even though they do not return in kind.

Not as bad as the bloke at my store that used to carry around his Nurgle army in his knickers. When he'd put them on the table, there would always be sweat and hairs on them. He argued that it was "thematic." 🙄🙄

I can understand being a bit perturbed by cringe behavior in the hobby. People saying "termies, Morty, Perty, Lord Disco" used to really get under my skin. But its so normalized, people aren't intentionally trying to be obnoxious. This is a culture of letting it all hang out. And that means that you can as well, and that's a good thing. You can be yourself without being judged, but you have be remember not to also be judgmental. It's far worse than the annoying thing the other guys just did.
