It's nice to have some knowledge on these 40mm carrying vests, and old school gear in general. Brilliant video.

Interesting👍🏻 Would like to know more about what coms gear you use (radios)?
@RealFakeGuns2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I generally dont, as its a modern thing and back in the days there was normally a designated RTO (Radio Telephone Operator) in each group (as we also reenact). I just normally shout and keep close to my group. If we loose to many i just retreat and regroup. I do have a PRC-25 that you carry on your back that i have hidden som chinese puxin in. But i havent got around to use it in field yet.

@@RealFakeGuns ARVN repro helmet, and a few bits and pieces, but they didn't notice the M16 handguards in my carry-on. the second time I went I got the remaining M16 furniture, bipod and some garand clips, got them out of Singapore but the bloody Greek TSA confiscated them for reasons that are beyond me. but did manage to get some other bits out, just non-weapon related.

Where did you get the Vietnam thing on your hat? What’s it called?
@RealFakeGuns2 жыл бұрын
East Asia Supply sometimes make them. They were souvenirs sold at local markets during the war. Can be seen worn just as plain headband/sweatbands and sometimes but rarely on helmets. Most common was on the boonie hats. I’d say they popped up mid to late war.

What makes the Vietnam war period so fascinating for you militarily? Just curious
@RealFakeGuns2 жыл бұрын
Growing up back in the day had me hooked on anything 80-90s, wether it’s music, clothes, action figures, comics or movies. Vietnam war themed movies were a big thing back then which always made me more curious about it. I also had a north Vietnamese girlfriend for many years during college and felt at home with their culture. Which I still continue to explore in different ways. Always non political and interests in both sides.
@jamesvuong81842 жыл бұрын
@@RealFakeGuns Yeah it is funny because I get to learn about that particular part of history through movies and music too. Fav VN war movie is still Platoon.

Just curious do they allow repro biet dong quan helmets out of vietnam since u have a biet dong quan helmet in your m2 carbine video
@RealFakeGuns2 жыл бұрын
Helmets get seized in Vietnamese customs at the airport. The one in the M2 videos is one I got via a friend. But I made my own that’s even more accurate now.

@@RealFakeGuns those vests. Most airsoft grenades are too large to fit.
@RealFakeGuns2 жыл бұрын
@@Hazztech If you buy realistic sized airsoft grenades they will fit. If you buy farby ones non milspec they will of course not fit… But a claymore bag will always swallow anything, which is a good addition.

@@RealFakeGuns "farby" grenades don't matter at milsim west, the functionality is more important there. My wish is that somebody would make a vest in this style for practical airsoft grenades.
