When I was a kid (b.1963) everyone left the kid in their stroller parked on the sidewalk while they went shopping. One well-documented abduction, I think in the late70's early 80's, ended that.

So they left the child in the seat and went shopping? That is horrific.

Born in 1960 I'd never once wore a seatbelt, as a boy I'd stand on the front seat so I could see better, I drove a rig for decades and never wore a seatbelt.

the shape gave the mystery away.. i didn't know merkins were a thing!! i have questions and comments but im keeping them to myself.. except rhis-- had doublesided tape been invented? perhaps the self defense gloves were called wolverettes?! this grouping has an inordinate amount of bizarro contemplations.. people are strange, strangers or not!
