Hello everyone , welcome to the next video in the series. In This video we are going to develop a ribbon like structure using Meta ball in Grasshopper. The applications are endless ,can be used in Ceiling design, flooring pattern or even a pavilion. So lets get on to the Video.
The first step is to Fixate on a rectangle and extrude it . After that , we can get random points on the cube using 3D populate component. Plug in meta ball component and plugin the points with output of 3D populate component.
After achieving the desired Curves , we need to smoothen the curves which can be done using Nurbs curve. Flatten the curves and the divide the curve and then plugin nurbs curve.The next step would be to extrude the curves and then slice it with an undulated surface.
To create an undulated surface we can consider the scaled version of the rectangle and re orient the points using move component on Random points.
From the new set of points we can create a surface and intersect the surface with the metaball curves and split it using “Split multi Breps”.
