Received an original Tom Brown Tracker as a gift from a friend. At first, I did not want to “mess it up” so it stayed in its sheath. Given the size and weight, you could run a truck over it and not mess it up. It is great blade for processing kindling and when held properly is a great draw knife. I purchased some used Cold Steel Sure Balance throwers which are about the same weight, which gave me the confidence to start throwing the Tracker. No more puny throwing knives for me. The hockey tape hack is a great suggestion.

I absolutely love that you made this video. I have the Tom Brown Tracker 1 and the Tom Brown Tracker 3. I EDCed the 1 until this last week when I got the 3. I do everything I can with the tracker and I wanted to learn to throw it. This video is a great help thank you very much.

I got my Tom Brown Tracker #1 in 2020 for $310. It's a beast. I love it. It takes time to learn how to use but well worth it.

Have you tried the Boker Tracker? It’s pretty cheap compared to the TOPS and it’s 1095 carbon steel also with micarta grips and an adjustable polymer sheath that can carry “scout/horizontal” style and other ways. Comes in Micro, Mini, and regular.,

I did try it, and I got rid of it because the thing was so skeletonized

I still have mine since 2013.. And I love it and a chop wood, start camp fire with and upgrade the sheath to leather. Yes I did throw it and no spin. Be careful it is sharp

I just couldn't bring myself to throw my T-1. What I did was to make a tracker out of an old field mower bade with angle cutter and bench grinder. I'm perfectly happy to throw something that didn't cost me anything but about six hours time and being aware of not overheating the steel. I'm not very good with it, but I have one I can practice with.

Probably be best to throw it sort of like a small hatchet. It wouldn't be quite the same but it'd be closer than comparing it to a dagger or purpose built thrower.
