Damn, it's been like 8 years haven't been watching fan videos ever since I became an aviation, then siren and then aviation back again. Watching these brought be back to my childhood when I was a fan geek.

I have a 36” Dayton fan like yours and the rotation is the same. It’s so weird. I had to flip the fan blades around and still run it in reverse to get the blades in the proper orientation to exhaust the air. They sure move some air when the blades are going as designed!👍🏻

Your rotation is correct. As you look at the motor it should be pushing air out, as it does. You can reverse motor by just changing wiring, check wiring diagram. Thanks…..Jim

I saw one of these in my nearby antique store but it was, in fact, much larger. Like 80 something inches?

You would think a belt-driven fan would be more quiet

I think the fan may be a little too close to the shutters and is making them vibrate. The vortices from the fan interact with them.

That is a supply fan. You need an exhaust fan.

My 48 in exhaust fan seems to be doing the same. The shutters on one side opens more than the other side. I can't figure out why it's doing that. Have you tried anything to stop yours from doing that?

It doesn’t need to be turned around switched the wiring on it. It’ll go the other way.
