Brakes are different for all karts. On our karts we use basic hydraulic systems, some with both front brakes and rear brakes. You will need to see what kind of mounts you have for a master cylinder and as well as if you have a disc brake hub and caliper. The most common easy to set-up standalone system is a kit made by MCP that is easy to find on most karting websites.

This is still a nice engine stock. running with a completely stock with a hilliard extreme duty clutch with do approximately 45-55 MPH based on gearing. When we first started last year we kept them stock to keep reliability up. Once we decided to start racing them that is when we decided to mill the head a hundred thousandths and do some other easy mods such as making an exhaust header and aftermarket muffler and new intake adapter with a cheap filter on it. With this set-up we are running 55mph

It is just a single speed centrifugal clutch. We don't use any type of transmission because there is simply no room on a racing kart. If this engine where to go onto a larger kart, say a yard kart then a torque converter box would be used with multiple speeds. Since racing karts are so light there is no need for multiple speeds. The engine has plenty of torque down low to pull the kart up to speed.

We haven't gone as far as cc'ing the combustion chambers, head gasket thicknesses, etc to find the true static compression ratios yet. That's something that we will be doing here in the off season.

We are partners with a company called PFM. They have fabricated and produced most of the 420cc custom parts. pfmparts .com (without the space). The drive-shaft is 1" so you will need a clutch with a 1" bore. Options are limited when it comes to clutches. We use either the Hilliard extreme duty or the Noram Star clutch. I have just posted a new thread on kartcommunity about our mods with links to parts. View the link the in description

Where did you get the centripical clutch? What size is the bore coming off the engine stock out of the box? Can you maybe make a video of your set up on the go kart and list all the parts and where you got them from. It would be very helpful me and my friend want to see your set up
