We teamed up with Muscle Car Campy for a look at these rare Ford Muscle Cars at the rayskillmanford.com auto museum in Greenwood, Indiana. See my friend Jill McKenna in sales (or call her) for a great deal on a new or used Ford!

My father bought a 69 428 cobra Torino from Rusty Eck ford in Wichita Kansas. We had so much fun running Corvettes.i was 11 years old. It was a fastback sky blue color.

As a kid, the neighbor had a Torino GT, dark green with laser stripes. 351C with a 4speed. I was obsessed with it. Seeing this collection is something i must try to do.

I grew up in the 60's early 70's, and remember these style Torino's and Fords being in the parking lot in high school! A buddy of mine had a '70 Torino GT, yellow with red lazer stripes, gorgeous car. Would love to see these cars compete in the Pure Stock Drags. Still working on my 1973 Mach 1, looking to make some upgrades and hopefully increase the horsepower for more fun. Thanks again for the videos, Evan, love the content!

M’y Oncle had a 1970 Torino GT yellow with the red stripe 351 4 speed hurst also side pipe . Totally was awesome car I was 11 year old . I remember who could not it was yellow.😊

The calypso coral '70 429 shaker with laser stripe, hideaway lights one of my dream cars. Did have a '70 GT429CJ Torino in Black and a bunch of Cyclone 429CJ/SCJ cars

The 69s fastbacks are so good looking that one simply tends to forget a bit the formal roofs... that are equally fantastic in my opinion. Just look this one, a dream of a muscle car! And the 70 is beyond words, so aggressive and beautiful at the same time. Both very powerful! Despite being heavy as pigs, they are dangerous cars... Loved both, thanks.

Bad ass man! I used to have 68 Fairlane FastBack with a Boss 351C transplanted into it and also a 71 Torino GT M code 351c. Both were 💯% bad ass. Love these old Fords!

This is a fantastic dream collection. That `69 looks to be fanatically correct. I wish there were more businesses producing 429 resto parts. The catalogs are full of small block and FE parts, but hardly any BBF stuff for that `70 GT. Thanks for showing us these two beauties.

385 series is the best truly big engine mountain motor most builds are naturally aspirated though no idea why when Ohio George best everyone in a turbo boss 429 .. maybe not that many were ever built so hard to find parts ? Malaise era really shoved the 385 as a 460 in truck duty which is a hidden gem . Did not get enough time to shine like the Fe did but if the Fe won LeMans produced the 427Cammer and with that the first engine to break 6’s in 1/4 and the 429/460 had to be better than that Ford planned on racing deep into the 70’s but didn’t 429 was the engine to power fastest door slammers from mid 70’s to now where there’s only custom big blocks now

One of my friends had Yarboroughs Ford cyclone. It was beat up but it looked kick ass. I always wanted it. I had bought a 66 dodge charger from his brother. Wish I had them both now.

A good friend of my Dad had a '69 and a '70 Cobra at one point in time during the late '70's to the mid '80's. They were both fastback cars though. In fact, the center section that I have in my Fox Body Capri came out of the '69 car. It was an original SCJ car with 4.30 gears. I bought that center section from him way back in '86 before all these parts were worth a king's ransom. I used it in my first drag car, a '68 Mustang that I had installed a 351 Cleveland in. Then removed that from the '68 before I sold the car to use in the Capri.

I love the 69-69 fairlane/Torino the formal roof is cool but I really like the fastback’s they look so much better than the marlins and early chargers

Yo man, I knew I should have come out to the pri... what a super collection. I had 2 Cobra Torino's... 70 and 71. Very cool cars, but I always wanted the 69 CJ Torino formal roof car... just something cool about those cars.

I had this identical car the 69 Torino Cobra except mine was painted in Indian fire red with a black vinyl top and had a 3.50 running gear. I had just finished my tour of duty after 3 years in the USN and was discharge in August 68. I originally ordered a 69 Mustang Mach One but it never came in and I finally got tired of waiting so in the back lot of a Ford dealer I spotted this car on Mother's Day of 69. Being front the Detroit area I had plenty of drag races up-and-down telegraph road. For some reason a lot of Corvettes wanted to take me on and quite honestly they never ran away from me.

The availability and the differences between 69, 70 and 70-1/2 unibody Torinos and the weird 70-1/2 Falcon post two doors. The Big Block FE and Lima 385 swap overs. R, Q, N, J and C codes, they are a thing of wonder and often have parts not fully detailed. It's no surprise to find bench seats and column shifts. Great to fill us in, Revan Evan . Saw a similar Torino fastback 5 or so years back at the Henry Ford Day in Hamilton. They look like a bigger, cooler version of the Aussie '72 to '78 Falcon coupes; though the Landau was uber cool too, especially the aircon control levers !!

The 69 is missing the moldings that go around the top of the tail lights. Either way, they're beautiful and incredibly rare.

I agree 100%. I would take the Torino over the Mustang as well. I actually had a 1971 Torino GT, 351C 4BBL engine power. A dang potato chip box van lost control and hit it, totaling it out. In 1976, it didn't seem as bad a loss then, as it has as the years go by.

Ford should’ve given the 460 the scj parts, not just the 429. That would’ve given the big gm motors more than it could handle. The big block spec toploader should’ve gotten wide ratio gear sets, and the front suspension was a circus. It’s design led ford to giving the 385 series big block absolute crap exhaust ports.

Getting the 1972 and up Torino would have given you the front suspension to make a good set of headers work on the 385 engines, as they did away with the shock towers on them, and had a more conventional front chassis design. I have done some serious work on the heads for the 385s, and can get over .200 CFM flow out of the stock exhaust on most of the OEM heads. I've never tried to max out any of them, as there are aftermarket heads out now that can outflow anything you can do to the best OE heads, and get them cheaper and lighter But for those that have to run Iron heads, there is a lot to be had doing a good port job on them.

@@elmerfudpucker3204 72 didn’t have the style, or power that the 70/71 had. While yes they did have a full frame and better all around suspension design. I’m speaking of offerings from the factory, with aftermarket support it’s a different story. The 385 series has a ton of potential no doubt. We all know the power rating of the scj 429’s were underrated, if the 460 made the same power per cube that the 429 scj actually did…the 460 from the factory with the scj parts would’ve made close to 500/500

there is a 429 SCJ rotting away a few miles from me .., 4 speed car .. widow wont sell for anything ..sitting since 1986 .

Both nice, but the '69 would be my choice, even if the '70 came with cash bonus. Cool carrousel, and nice he kept it out of the scrap pile. Friend and I bought 3 of those electric 10cent rocking horses that sat on sidewalks in front of stores. Vender was going to toss them in the back of a warehouse. The one in front of my friends dads grocery store worked fine, just needed freshened up, always kids taking rides. We left them at 10cents, never made anything from them profit wise, just the enjoyment of knowing the kids enjoyment-all had smiles like yours on the horse.

I'll take a 428 Mach 1 anyday. A question I have is my uncle had a 428 Mach 1 "Tasca Ediition" when I was a kid. It had a shaker-scoop, fiberglass (flat black) hood, fiberglass deckliid with the rear window slats & a four-speed. I was ten years old at the time (1970) and I can't remember if it had 2 or 4 headlights. I think it could only have been a '69, but I figured a ford expert could clarify it for me. Thanks, Jerry
