The only thing I’d add is that you can use the portal behind the third church of merika to teleport closer to the dragon barrow than the teleporting chest. Sure you need to run past an active dragon, but as long as you run down the center of the bridge he’ll barely ever hit you.

Literally fucking died like 50 times in that first part where I’m supposed to get 8 smithing stones

Just an addendum to this great guide, if you mount your horse and finish killing the dragon while mounted, you can immediately turn and run back to the grace. If you rest in time, you will get all the runes and the dragon will respawn so you can repeat at a later time. The key is to turn and run (while mounted) as soon as the Dragon's body twitches from the death blow, and press left stick to dismount right at the Grace. Hope this helps someone

Here's a new tip, you can make the lion fight easier by infecting it through the bars at the entrance to the fort. The spell will pass through.

I had mine done in less than an hour. such a fun build

I dual wielded some long swords for Margit but I used a +4 Greatsword for Godrick The Grafted. That sword is no joke. I like it more than the Bloodhound's Fang

Since shabriri woe makes enemies aggressive it should be the equivalent of brand of sacrifice

You only need one torch to open the way to the church of plague. Just the first one you lighted. The other two unlocks the seals around the city and the last one opens the way for a boss fight (Nox duo).

When getting the lion claw ash, you can cheese the fight with the sword alone. That mini boss cant actually go thru the fort's front entrance, your sword having just enough reach to attack & back up over n over til it drops. Getting it was a game changer for me

Since he doesn’t mention .make sure you have a seal too use dragon rot it’s the thing he has in his left quick slot you can by it for 800r from the twins at the round table!!

Just with the location of the smithing stones and greatsword+dragon xp was enough. Margit got slapped.

You can take an hour and get yourself a great sword +12 if you just run to the smithing bell bearings. Get the mace on the weeping peninsula for a bleed weapon and you don’t need to put anything into dex. And tbh I find using summons and spells a bit contrary to having a guts inspired build.

for the armor. Night Calvary Aromor and the black hood.

It seems fitting that most you need is in caelid and when there it looks like the eclipse 😂 the sky is never red from anywhere else. I'm guessing the scarlet rot make the sky look red?

if you don’t want to waste stat points on arcane just to use rot breath on the lion you could take a stonesword key as your starting gift and grab the black key crossbow and bolts from RTH to proc scarlet rot.

If you want to farm that dragon as soon as it does it's death animation, mount up and get to the grace as fast as you can and rest, if you are fast enough the dragon respawns but you keep the souls.

You'll meet the Stat requirements for bloodflame blade incantation so get that too I have used it in PvP with this build I was a bit overleveled though (157).

In fort Gaol you can also get a talisman that boosts strength by 5 points

"so just follow my lead" goes at light speed

Also once you you get to dragon communion cathedral be on the look out for a tough banished knight.

tbh you can beat margit without the rot and save alot of time. Even if u dont get it first try u prolly still be faster

vs enemies and bosses: OP PvP: don't try it unless it's an honored fight, otherwise you'll get spammed by magic users/RoB/moonveil/madness spammers.

If you not trying to up faith and arcane for your strength build just shoot poison arrows at the lion from the entrance, he gets stuck there worked for me

If early to you just means less bosses then grab the medallion halfs and go to atlus to get your sword up to 21 Or 23 it's a bit longer but if you go back to the first step it's the entire game with an almost max level monster sword and breeze it.

Had lots of trouble on the lion. It was hard to get the rotting breath to hit him. I got him to jump on the ledge first, then backed into that room, then used rotting breath. Lot better accuracy, and he can't attack you. Might help those who had a lot of trouble like me lol

If you go with fire infusion and a str/faith build you'll actually get a ton more damage out. Especially with using flame grant me strength.

Has Fort Faroth been patched at the entrance? I go in to multiple enemies and it is impossible to get to the ladder without dying. Sneaking is not an option either.
