I think the best test method is to have a pre recorded vocal (or instrument) playing out of a Bluetooth speaker, then setting each mic the exact distance away (measure). This way they’re recording the exact same audio, from the exact same distance. Then gain match and listen.

It's not thousands of dollars worth of difference that you couldn't eq to your liking.
