I too was met a few times with a little switch and trust me, I'm thankful for my upbringing and the job my mom did instilling morals and what's right from wrong in us. A lot of that is what's lacking nowadays ( IMO). Take care ! 🙂

I was the same way I was a only child my mother had she did not know that she was pregnant she said she wore her same clothes she went to pick her arms up to pick in her coat I should up in the bathroom 7pounds 8 Ounces and my Grandmother was glad for my mother to have a child and my grandmother was a good person so that's how my mother was very sweet person and when she cook she feed other children to Evening through I was the only child she took care of other I miss my mother right to day I Know she is in Heaven and she is looking down on me that's way I love this song Heavenly is gooding down on me Thank you for listening at me God Bless

Rewatching some of my favorite Granny Pat videos. Jan, I’m 61. I’ve loss all of my aunts. Loss my mom when I was 23 from cancer and my Dad 4 years later. I love watching you with Granny Pat, your precious Mother. I do have precious memories of my family. Just not a lot. Jan, I know you know how so very blessed you are! Your family is so blessed. Your hair looks so nice! I love you front porch swing. My cousins and I used to sit on our great grandmother’s porch swing and we would play a game. Who’s car is next. One car would come along and it would be mine and the next one of my cousins and so on. Of course we would laugh at whoever got the gallopy. It is great memories. I’m very close to my sister who is next to me in age. I am 8 years older than she is but we have the best times together. You’re such an inspiration! I love al your collections. I too have a love for dishes and have many sets.

You have made my day! I too have a nice front porch. My children and grandchildren and family have good memories here. When my oldest daughter had graduated. That summer I told Amanda every night at 7 drop what ever you are doing and we will have porch time together. A couple weeks went by and she invited her cousin to have porch time with us. That summer we had a great time on the front porch. Her cousin practically grew up her anyway. Little did I know they both would soon get married and start a family. Time just goes to fast. Then Amanda has a twin sister and brother, now I have 7 grandchildren. I have raised them all on the front porch, great memories here for our grandchildren also. Hello Ladies 😊 just delightful! I’ve mentioned my Daddy was raised in Tennessee and he was an old fashioned sort of fellow. When my oldest sister got out of line he would head out to get a switch. Now she has ALWAYS been a headstrong type A personality and was positively outraged that ANYONE would use a switch on her. She thought it was child abuse-I think it was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY in her particular case 😮😊! Now my brother and I were raised playing outside in our neighborhood much as you described. We had one hour of tv in the evenings and that was it! Last year I boarded a bus coming home from a trip to see family and EVERY single person on that bus-older folks too- had their faces buried in their phones! Now I LOVE watching your videos but an entire hour bus trip with barely a head lifted to look around-RIDICULOUS-LOL!!

Oh my!! I remember my great-grandmother had two front porch swings, my mother and her would swing on one and my brother and I would swing in the other. We would swing so high, we would hit the window as well as the porch!! Good times!!

I grew up with a front porch swing just like yours and we had a creek out back as well. I have lots of good memories from playing at the creek. I only had one sibling though, a sister 11 years older so she was married and gone by the time I was 7 or so.

You ladies take me back to my childhood in the mid to late 1940's. We had dirt roads in our small town. We would make a clearing in the road, use a stick to make a circle, and play marbles. We too climbed trees, Grampa said if we ate too many green apples we would get sick. We would fall out of the tree, get up and climb back up. Yes, all we had back then was each other to play with. We were too poor to have toys. But, we did respect our elders or we would feel pain on our behinds. Mom and Dad disciplined us equally, there was no - "wait until your father gets home".

So nice to see Jan and Ms. Pat and Aunt ; the flowers. I can’t grow not one flower recently for some reason; Tell them stories It’s nice to hear 👂

Well at 71 I learned what a branch is. I had no idea. I just came across chit chat yesterday. I'm hooked. Going to be checking out your video's. So very nice of you to take the time to make them. My first video was your french dressing video. I also saw your book on Amazon, cookbook. I believe I will just have to make a purchase. You know Ebay has some types of that glassware you were speaking of. Not sure if they have the exact ones, you were looking for. Have a wonderful Sunday. My little story when I was maybe 11 years old, My mom was a darn good cook had 5 of us girls to raise while dad was overseas in the Army. Well times were hard and money scarce. So, one day I heard my momma saying she couldn't make ends meet (meat) and I couldn't understand that since she was a mighty fine cook and she seemed quite perplexed. So, I asked her, well mommy just tell me how to make it and I will help you. I thought it was a food. At least it brought a smile to her face.

Wait...Corbin Ky? I know it well. Well atleast the old old Corbin. My Aunt and Uncle lived on the main road to town fromBear Holler. My Grandparents lived in Rockhold . Spent many summers there swinging on the front porch with my cousins. Best times!
