4 жыл бұрынOk so we rreeeaallly didn’t want to leave Cape Town. It has got to be one of the most beautiful cities on earth. The weather was absolutely perfect, the food was world class and the guest house we stayed in was dreamy.
This is the first of two films we made whilst in South Africa, our road trip film is coming soon! We were extremely grateful for this much sun in November.

I live in Cape town and even I was like, damn, I wish I lived there. Unfortunately most of these experiences are for tourists. Locals cant afford this shit. Great job guys, you made it look amazing!

Yeah, that’s not totally fair! I’ve been to Silo, Orphanage, Gorgeous George (hate the service tho lol), Lion’s Head, Jason’s & Clarke’s. I don’t like sushi, but everyone knows Willough’s is bomb. The face painting restaurant is 👌🏻🤣 rubbish food!

My loft apartment’s balcony overlooks “the orphanage bar” I bought it in 2003 for next to nothing before the property boom in Cape Town, now I can’t even afford to buy it from myself if I had too. Luckiest investment ever.

Friends of mine stay in Cape Town, visit them at least once per year, and this is definitely the luxury and very small part of Cape Town very few actually visit and use. There is so much more to see...

High guy's, did you know that back in the summer, Lidl were baking fresh, several times a day, 'CROLLS' which were round, slightly domed and a cross between a croissant and a bread roll and............I cheated and used M&S southern fried chicken to make a chicken burger, I have to say they were great and very, very similar to what you were eating.....love the films.

Wow lived just North of Cape Town and every time I went into Cape Town I would go for the same generic restaurants, never again. I was so excited to see you guys come to Cape Town after discovering your channel about 1-2 months ago. You guys make killer content, always finding the most "Out there" restaurants and food. I’ve watched other videos where they’re pretty open about saying if they thought a restaurant/bar/hotel wasn’t worth visiting or if the food wasn’t good (which I personally appreciate!) so it makes me wonder how “average” that restaurant must’ve been for them to not even want to share the name of it 😰

It was called Africa Cafe. In our other films we have called out restaurants for being bad or rude service etc. However, at the Africa Cafe all the team were so lovely but the food just didn't match up so we didn't make a big feature of it in the film. It was quite a touristy place and we just couldn't recommend the food. We went into 'I love Dough' just to wash the face paint off - their pizza is actually pretty great.

Next time go to spur/wimpy/primi piati/saddles/kfc/mc donalds... because that is what the average consumer can afford maybe once a month if lucky. places like Africa cafe is for tourists that come with normally being overpriced. Want a real experience? ask the locals what to do and where to go. I can guarantee that you will enjoy it!

Excellent! Will go check out all your recommendations. Instead of Africa Cafe you should maybe have gone to Addis in Cape, it is an experience and the food is wonderfully flavourful. I checked out Africa Cafe's menu and it has all normal items so it must have just been disappointing food, not strange like one of the comments down here suggested. I live in Hermanus so I am going to look out for your next video re Winelands. The view from La Vierge's toilet is just as awesome as the one you show at the beginning here. Enjoy SA, yes, it is wonderful to live here! Glad to see that other Capetonians are giving you a thumbs up, you deserve it!

As a white South African sometimes I don't even know how to help MYSELF if I want to try things from different cultures! So when foreigners visit I feel like it's a bit of a cheek to complain to them when it's their first trip here (& crime is a MASSIVE issue that scares a lot of people off). Look at all the comments on this thread! Literally half the comments of people who haven't even explored SA themselves and then we're getting mad at random KZfaqrs who are actually doing nothing but good things. I think we need to up our game as locals and then we can start holding foreigners accountable :)

Rachael Swerdon We gather a load of recommendations from friends, family and our instagram followers. This list is massive but we then whittle it down to the places we’re most excited about. We put a lose itinerary together but mostly just freestyle on the day!

Good video but a bit disappointing to see no South African specialty (biltong, chakalaka, sosaties). It's too bad to go to Cape Town to eat Benedict eggs or sushi. It would have also been nice to see restaurants where the clientele is a bit more "mixed".

FACTS! The worst is coming to Africa and just doing tourist places like beach cafes and cocktail bars. Eggs benedict and burgers guys come on so western. Why didn't they go to a braai place and have boerewors,chakalaka,Ouma se brood. Potjiekos. Or a dish of Umnqusho even! I mean so many other great traditional dishes can be found in Cape Town.

I mean I'm really happy this showed up in my recommendations but like KZfaq I may live in Cape Town but I ain't got time to do such beautiful things😂I'm not gonna get my degree if I'm jetting off to rooftop bars and wine farms😩😭😂 all that being said it's videos like this that make me so incredibly happy to be living in CT🌊✨ Edit: oh m geee I love Willoughby and Co. I'm not a sushi fan but their calamari is fab😍 Edit 2: holy crab cakes I love Yours Truly!!!!!! Always the best vibes there

48hours is definitely not long enough for Cape Town - looking forward to the road trip film, I hope you check out less "touristy" places than the V&A and Africa Cafe "young man"! :D
