I’m South African, if you want a proper safari please go to Kruger, the size and landscape are unmatched.. those ones next to Cape Town are dry and empty. You will just see animals

@@izrelismail4790 truthfully, we don’t think anything can compare to the Kruger National Park, except maybe for the Serengeti. If you’re coming to Cape Town only this is a good option. If you have the time and extra money we do think Kruger is worth the visit.

1) Nice to see you back home! As Dorothy said (in The Wizard of Oz): "There's no place like home". 2) Interesting that you call Safaris "Game Drives". I love knowing what stuff is called in other parts of our world, where English is also spoken. Thank you. Feel free to point out other dialectic differences between the English spoken in South Africa, and that which you hear elsewhere. I appreciate learning. 3) Question time, because you knew I'd have at least one: Was this your first game drive, Claire and Rhett? What is the beautifully-coloured birdie, at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1044">17:24</a>, please? I like to know what I am looking at, mainly because I have never seen such an animal! 4) Music at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="850">14:10</a> is so epic, and also perfectly accompanies your travels.

FreeSpeechisMe: As far as I know, the word Safari is actually a (ki)Swahili word (east Africa - Kenya / Tanzania / Serengeti) derived from the Arabic word, to travel. A game drive tends to last a few hours. A full safari often involves spending nights out in the bush in a set-up, movable, tent camp as opposed to returning to a permanent brick building/lodge. It often tends to involve more walking than driving around (or, e.g. canoe'ing down the Limpopo River border Zimbabwe/Botswana: did that once, huge fun as long as your ranger is armed to scare off a roving, hungry crocodile or the animal responsible for the most deaths in Africa - a hippopotamus). Recognise the bird but would have to look up its name: I think it is a type of sun bird from the long beak. Sorry I can't remember birds off hand that well any more.
