Trivia: To enter the food floors of Daimaru, it's one way. They have set up entrances and exits as a COVID19 measure. So please be careful that it's not like you can enter freely from anywhere. There are 2 floors but I think Isetan food floor is bigger.

I went on a trip to Japan when I was a student a long time ago. I didn't have any money, so I bought a sushi set with a closing sale at a grocery store in Tokyo and sat down on the stairs nearby. But I was happy. I miss the moment so much now. - k from seoul

Some of our fondest memories of our Japan vacations have been going to Depachikas! The first one we went to was Tokyu Food Show in Shibuya. We haven't been to the Daimaru in Tokyo, but we've went to the Kyoto & Osaka Umeda locations. We look forward to going back and are thrilled with these walk-throughs!

Tokyu Food Show is great too! You know what. Food Show is still there but Tokyu Department Store at Shibuya station closed in March after 85 years of history. I guess they will probably build a new one. I hope you will enjoy it next time you come to Japan! Thank you very much for watching! 😄

There are alot of great Japan walking tour channels, but not as many that dive into interiors. So I also personally enjoyed the Isetan video. Hope you make more videos walking thru the interiors (not just the depachikas). I always find awesome urban spaces to wander thru around Japan, like the depachikas, underground malls, and train stations like Kyoto and Osaka.

I didn't see no signs of "no cameras". Is it because many department stores have started to sell things on the Internet these days? I saw the other day that some store have even started "virtual live shopping" with a streaming camera in hand. Customers who watch the live streaming can even interact with store staff to decide what they want to buy. I thought it was a good idea especially if they want to buy fresh fish or vegetables. @VSV_Japan

I remember watching TV program showing a practice at Tokyo station. A third party company buys everything unsold at very low prices. And then re-sell them at cheap prices to all the workers at Tokyo station on the same day after stores closed. The key is that they buy EVERYTHING unsold from stores and re-sell them on the same day because the freshness is important when it comes to food. They said, in the future they are hoping to open not just to workers at Tokyo station but also to general public. I thought it was a good idea. I'd be the one to wait in line to get those discounted food! 😄

@@artfulseoul Someone already requested me to pan the camera a little slower so I tried as slow as possible but it turned out not so slow enough. It's really hard to film something indoor. Because the objects are very close to the camera and the distance between 2 objects can be only 1m or 2m. Imagine someone moving that short distance in a very slow movement.
