This video shows you inside the new sanctuary of Otaku culture, Tokyo Nakano Broadway Shopping Mall. It starts at its entrance on the 1st floor and takes a direct escalator to 3rd floor. Then we are going up to the 4th floor and coming down to the 3rd, the 2nd and the basement floors before we go back to where we started from on the 1st floor.

Trivia: I've walked on the 1st floor of Nakano Broadway many times to go through to the other side but it was my first time to go up to the 2nd floor and above. It really is a sanctuary of Otaku! If you are into Japanese Anime, you won't be able to come out of this building in 1 day. It's that awesome! 😄

Congratulations on your anniversary! I really enjoy your channel. It has made being away from Japan so much easier since we couldn't travel due to covid. Lovely to see such slow smooth calm filming. Thank you for not spinning the camera like someone in a hurry, like most youtubers do. It's so much easier to watch when you go slow. As we can scan and pan with our own eyes. Great job. I have subscribed.

Apologies for my late reply. I’m glad you like this video. Shooting video indoor is very difficult because everything is so close that you have to move extra slowly as if you are doing tai chi in the middle of everybody. 😁 Anyway thank you for watching!

In 2011, I was fated to visit Nakano Broadway. Unfortunately, I went around it and ended up at Heavysick Zero instead. I also missed int in 2013 when I partied across the street in the Nakano Sun Plaza at Re:Animation. Thank you for finally showing me the inside that I should have visited. That’s kind of sad seeing how empty Nakano Broadway is. Years ago it would be all shops open with shoulder to shoulder foot traffic, and full of life. I feel bad for all the small businesses who once occupied where all those closed shutters were. I hope Nakano Broadway will recover one day when international tourism opens back up.

Nakano was the place I will remember fondly! I was scouring every BOOK OFF in the Tokyo area, in search of a very specific manga I could simply not find. When I went there, it was too late for Nakano Broadway to be opened, so I couldn't see it the first time around. The GPS on my phone was broken as well, so I walked the opposite way of where I was supposed to go 😂. When I decided to turn around to try the other side, I almost gave up, before the BOOK OFF popped into my vision! And I got that very specific manga I wanted! Came back another day for the actual shopping mall, and bought way too many last-minute manga 😂. Very fond memories indeed! Will definitely visit again next year! For more of those last-minute manga purchases 😂

Nice that there’s also new places for you. Well, I’d need to visit some park or quiet area after this overwhelming interim of peaceful diversity. Mainly would go there for taking pictures, for example of the Godzillas and maybe the retro styled spots , have a look at retro toys, draw some gatcha and maybe have a look at the kimono shop of the elderly women. The vegetables seemed cheap as well. A place I’d buy more would probably be daiso 😆 ... thanks for the video. I think in this video i saw the most foreigners of all videos so far.

There's a member only section in there that requires a keycard on one of the upper floors (3F or 4F, can't remember), I know there's a bathhouse and some bars in there but what else?

Love this place! I have been there a couple times shopping for vintage toys hoping to find good deals but they are getting very expensive! It is like treasure hunting :) And I always wonder if the deal is good at those expensive watches and jewelry stores. From your video, they are busy even at pandemic time, wow.
